Duncan listened to his mother.
“I will, I will continue to do rehabilitation, and when you come back, I may be able to walk two or three
yards away. By the way, how long will you be there?”
After being silent for a moment, Liberty said, “I might have to stay until New Year’s, and I will go back
for the festive season.”
“That's quite long, what if Sonny misses you?”
“He’s in Serenity’s hands, I’m not that worried when he’s with her. If he really misses me, I will go back
to accompany him when I am free on the weekends. If I don't have time, I can only let Zachary send
him over to reunite with me for two days."
She was only going to get busier.
In this short period of time, there would be very little time to spend with her son.
“Since Sonny was born, Serenity helped take care of him. He can adapt to this, and New Year’s around
the corner so it will be over in a blink of an eye.”

Duncan happened to just blurt it out.
Sonny was just a decoy. The truth was, he was the one missing Liberty.
It would take so long for her to come back and he would have gone crazy from missing her.
Even though they could talk on the phone and video call, it still could not alleviate the pain of
lovesickness.
Sonny was accompanied by Serenity. The little guy had a deep bond with his aunt, and he did not crynovelbin
or cause trouble without his mother around; he could adapt to his mother’s absence.
Duncan, on the other hand, could not get used to it.
He was already used to seeing Liberty every day.
“Liberty, when I miss you, can I go over and see you myself? Don’t worry, I don’t need you to take care
of me, I have a private jet, I can fly over. I will bring along my bodyguards too, they can take care of me.
“I won’t bother you to do things, I just want to look at you, eat with you, talk with you. I’ll choose
weekends to fly over. I’ll go back on Mondays as I also need to go to work.”
Liberty’s heart was warm, and she said softly, “If that’s the case, you can bring Sonny over on the
weekends.”
“I want to spend a weekend with you alone… Do I still have to bring Sonny to third wheel us…”

Duncan said, “Alright… If I come, I’ll take Sonny with me. Let’s end the call here, you should get some
rest, you’re probably exhausted.”

call.
After calling Liberty, Duncan’s mood improved significantly.
When Liberty advised him against following her to Jensburg, he had an emotional breakdown and
vanished without a trace.
He pushed his wheelchair from the living room to his quarters. With only a few steps between himself
and his bed, he stopped his wheelchair.
He grabbed onto the handles of his wheelchair and stood up slowly. Once he stood straight, he took a
few steps forward, slowly moving toward his bed. As he got close to his bed, he quickly leaned against
the nightstand and slowly sat on the bed.
After a few steps, his legs trembled. However, they trembled less than before.
“Liberty, when you come back for New Year’s, I hope I can walk to you by then.”
There were only a few months left before the New Year. He would do his rehabilitation every day. He
hoped that when Liberty eventually returned, he would be able to walk a few yards so that he could
walk to Liberty and surprise her.
If he could achieve that by then, he could probably walk normally the year after.
Once his legs recovered and he could walk normally, he would propose and make Liberty his wife!
He did not want to let Liberty wait too long.
