Chapter 2677

Liberty remained silent for a moment before saying, “Between spouses, if one cheats, there’ll be a

crack. Even if they don’t divorce, they lead a life of semblance without essence. It’s better to separate.

“My husband cheated and was abusive. Now, he’s my ex-husband.

“Don’t expect them to change. What happened once could happen again. It’s better to part ways.

Separation doesn’t mean the end.”

Caroline said, “My dad won’t leave, absolutely not. He knows well that divorce means he gets nothing.

His relatives won’t benefit from us anymore. Perhaps, whatever they had gained before, might be

demanded back.”

With Belinda’s cruelty, she could actually do it.

“Anyhow, our Fisher family shouldn’t expect tranquility. I always feel there will be big issues.”

Liberty did not respond further.

Her aunt sent her quickly to Jensburg for development. She knew the recent chaos in the Fisher family,

and Belinda did not have much time to focus on her, allowing her the chance to develop and learn more

about the past.

She could also use this as an opportunity to rally the Fisher family’s members.

The one who won the hearts of the people won the war.

Although she did not grow up in the Fisher family and had no career in Jensburg, she had several

strong backers. Her grandmother was the previous head of the Fisher family. By pulling in Fisher's

family members and gaining their support, she could still succeed.

“Liberty, you’ve just arrived, and you’ve been on a flight for several hours. Go back and rest. Call me if

you need anything; it’s the number I gave you.”

Liberty asked her, “Aren’t you returning with me?”

Caroline pursed her lips and said, “I’ll stay here a bit longer and enjoy the peace and quiet. It will helpnovelbin

calm my mind. Going back will just be a mess.”

“Be careful then. And don’t stay for too long, it’s secluded here.”

Liberty gave her a few words of advice and then returned to her car, quickly driving away.

After watching Liberty’s car drive away, Caroline leaned against her car, gazing up at the dark sky.

After some time, she heard the sound of a vehicle and was aware that someone was there.

Who would come this late into the night, to such a secluded place?

Caroline had initially wanted to hide, but as she had guessed it was Darren, she did not move.

It was indeed Darren.

Darren’s vehicle stopped beside the road. He exited the car and rushed over.

“Are you alright, Ms. Caroline?”

He scrutinized Caroline via the car’s headlights that were left on.

“I’m fine. I just met up with my niece, it’s not like I was in a fight or anything.”

Darren dotingly said, “Sure you did. You came to see your niece. Meeting near the cemetery late at

night, someone who doesn't know better might think you and your niece are trying to raid a tomb.”

“What’s there to rob from tombs nowadays? We’re not in ancient times, where important people were

buried along with many jewelry and other funerary objects. Nowadays, people are cremated and have

their remains stored in an urn to be buried. There’s nothing worth stealing.”

Darren laughed. “You two don’t fear ghosts?”

“Nope. We didn’t do anything that could possibly anger the spirits. It’s quiet, nobody is making a scene,

and we are unlikely to be spotted here. The only people who could’ve seen us are the people who

sleep here.

“I assume you saw Liberty on your way here?”

“I saw a car pass by. I could not discern who the driver was, but I suspected it was her ride. She really

did disguise herself, huh?”
