Chapter 2675

“What’s your plan? My mom knows you’re here, and she won’t just sit back. Be careful. If there’s

anything I know, I’ll tell you. But if I don’t, then I can’t help you.”

Liberty suppressed her smile, scrutinizing Caroline seriously for a while before saying, “Caroline, we’ve

met, and I believe you’re someone with a sense of justice. Your values aren’t skewed. However, that’s

your mother, your biological mom. You share a mother-daughter bond, and you won’t be on opposing

sides.”

Caroline’s smile gradually faded. She sighed, “True, we’re mother and daughter by blood. It’s a great

pressure for me to stand against her. It takes immense courage. You being cautious of me is normal.

“But, Liberty, I genuinely care about you and worry for you. My mom is a ruthless person, truly. It’s not

just talk.

“If you don’t want to talk about it, I won’t ask again. But if you encounter difficulties that you can’t solve,

you can reach out to me. I’ll do my best to help you.

“Actually, my mom and I don’t share much of a mother-daughter affection. I didn’t grow up with her. I

was already in my twenties when I returned. Because Celine stayed in the Fisher Manor, they have

always favored her. I know that even if I say we don’t have much affection, I can’t erase the fact that

we’re biologically related.

“If it weren’t for you all, I think I would eventually take on the heavy responsibility of becoming the

matriarch, leading the family forward.”

She also wanted to modify the family rules and regulations, making them less rigid.

Even though the cost may be high, it was for the sake of allowing the family to advance and develop

further.

Caroline took out a business card and passed it to Liberty. “This is my other phone number. Not many

have this, so if you have any problems, just call this number.”

Liberty took the business card and inspected the phone number written on it. Then, she noticed

that the company name and address written on the card were not that of the Fisher Enterprise.

“That’s the company I built before returning to the Fisher family. I love earning money. Maybe I was

influenced by the environment that I was brought up in. In school, aside from studying, I was always

thinking about how to earn money. Before graduating college, I had already accumulated a

considerable amount of wealth. After I graduated, I put more time and effort into my business, which

led to my own company.

“To be honest, even if I didn’t return to the Fisher family, I am already a rich woman. Of course, I

couldn’t hold a candle to your sister.”

Serenity’s net worth was already in the billions.

Caroline’s wealth, however, was built by her own blood, sweat, and tears.novelbin

“My mother doesn’t even know about my business. I haven’t told anyone in the Fisher household about

it.”

Liberty said, “Thank you for your trust in me.”

She kept the business card.

Caroline looked Liberty in the eyes and solemnly said, “I, too, want to know what happened all those

years back; whether Mother planned it, or if she killed her sisters with her own hands. The position of

the Fisher matriarch is enticing indeed—having absolute authority no matter if it’s within the family,

company, or at home.

“But if it isn’t rightfully mine, I don’t want it. If it is rightfully mine, I wouldn’t let anyone rob my

place! If I am to inherit the position, I want to do it with a clear conscience, without any guilt.”

If her mother really schemed to kill her own sisters to seize the position of the matriarch, then it would

be an illegitimate gain.

If she were to inherit it from her mother, it would mean that she was robbing the benefits and position

that rightfully belonged to her late aunt’s descendants.

She would feel guilty.

Moreover, many lives were involved in this matter.
