Chapter 2654

Serenity appeared in his line of sight.

“Duncan,” Serenity called out gently.

Zachary, who was beside Serenity, took the tray from Duncan and walked inside. Teasingly, he said,

“Almost forty and still acting like a child. You even need a child to comfort you. Duncan, don’t you feel

embarrassed? I’m embarrassed for you.”

Duncan grunted, “If you think I embarrass you, then don’t come. I didn’t ask you to come and be

embarrassed for me.”

Zachary turned and glared at him. “You’re not happy with a few words from me. If you weren’t my

buddy and possibly my future brother-in-law, do you think I’d bother with you? As if I have nothing

better to do.”

He placed the tray of food on the coffee table and said to Duncan, “Why are you sitting there? Come

over and eat!”

Duncan remained silent.

Sonny, sitting on his lap, lifted his little face. His bright, black eyes looked at Duncan, and in a sweet

voice, he said, “Dunc, I told Charmaine that I would make sure you eat. If you don’t eat, Charmaine will

think I’m just a bad kid who talks big.”

Duncan lowered his head, touching foreheads with Sonny, then hugged him tightly.

“I will listen to you, Sonny. I won’t let you become a bad kid who talks big. You’re a good kid, smart,

sensible, and considerate. I like you the most.”

Sonny’s cherubic face showed obvious delight.

He enjoyed receiving compliments.

Soon, Sonny slid down to the floor.

He circled to the back of the wheelchair, and said, “Dunc, I’ll push you to the table.”

“I can do it myself.”novelbin

“Before Mom left, she reminded me, Aunt Seren, and Uncle Zak to take good care of Dunc. I promised

Mom that I wouldn't cry or make a fuss to go with her. I also promised her that I would take care of

Dunc.”

The little fella used all of his might to push the wheelchair. Seeing this, Duncan pushed the wheelchair

himself, not wanting the little boy to do the hard work.

Sonny suddenly felt incredibly relieved.

He suddenly felt capable, that he was strong enough to push Dunc forward. He felt strong!

Laurence said that one’s strength will increase with regular training.

He went to the gym for lessons every weekend. He trained hard in martial arts.

The coach said that he lacked talent in martial arts, but if he continued training, he would do well

enough in self-defense.

He also heard from Aunt Seren and Uncle Zak that he was inferior to Laurence when it came to martial

arts. However, after heeding Laurence’s words, he realized that it was true.

He was indeed getting stronger.

Look, he could even push Dunc forward now.

Sonny pushed the wheelchair next to the couch and stopped.

He wanted to help Duncan get up from his wheelchair.

Duncan could not help but laugh. “Sonny, you don’t have to help me get up. I’m too heavy for you.”

As he spoke, he grabbed the armrest of the couch, stood up, and easily slid onto the couch.

Zachary and Serenity only observed and did not offer to help.

He did not need their help anyway. On the contrary, having them help would only make him feel more

incapable.

The young couple understood Duncan’s mindset, so they only observed Duncan getting onto the

couch.
