Chapter 2606

“You’re an adult, a responsible grown-up, and you need the courage to face everything and shoulder

the responsibilities that are yours.

“I know that you and Camryn are in complete agreement. However, she has never wanted to take

advantage of you. Don’t worry; what’s rightfully yours will always be yours. If it’s not meant for you,

don’t even think about it, don’t be like Carrie.”novelbin

Trenton nodded. “Callum, I understand. Camryn and I just want to safeguard everything in the Newman

family. Carrie has already started looking for a lawyer, preparing to sue Camryn.”

That was the reason he took leave and returned.

He wanted to stand by Camryn's side. Even if Carrie won the lawsuit, she would not get much of the

family assets.

He questioned Carrie’s action of taking Camryn to court while their parents were still alive.

Though, by transferring all the family assets to himself with his parents’ consent, would Carrie be able

to claim a share via a lawsuit? Apart from Abel’s share, the rest of the assets belonged to his parents.

They were neither too old nor mentally unsound; they were only in their fifties.

They can decide to whom they want to bequeath their assets and Carrie’s anger could never change

that, even if she and their parents stop talking with each other.

This was something Trenton would not tell Carrie; he would let her deal with it. In the end, it would all

be for naught.

“You had just finished your run, right? Head upstairs for a shower, change your clothes, and then you

can come down for breakfast. What do you want to eat?”

“I’m not a picky eater. Whatever you make for breakfast, I’ll eat. You’re a great cook. Anything you

make tastes heavenly.”

Callum smiled and said, “I’ll prepare something simple. Come down for breakfast when you’re ready.

Don’t bother Camryn. She’s tired. Let her sleep a little longer.”

“Camryn didn’t go to work yesterday, right?”

Trenton asked dubiously, “Why is she feeling so tired? Is it because of the medications?”

He knew that although Camryn had regained her sight, she needed to continue her medications daily.

He thought her drowsiness was caused by the over-reliance on the medications she was taking.

“That’s not it. We just had too much to talk about and ended up sleeping late. It’s still pretty early and

she probably hasn’t gotten enough sleep yet. Let her sleep in, or better yet, let me accompany you to

prison.”

Callum was legally the Newman couple’s son-in-law, which made him a family member, granting him

visitor access.

“If my sister’s still resting when we are about to depart, then I’d have to take up on your offer.”

Trenton did not doubt Callum’s words, thinking they had really chatted late into the night, depriving

Camryn of her sleep.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Trenton muttered, “Who could it be so early in the morning?

“I’ll get the door, Callum.”

Callum nodded and left for the kitchen to get cracking on breakfast.

Trenton headed to the entrance of the villa.

The sounds of the doorbell were replaced by banging on the door. Accompanying the din was a familiar

voice shouting, “Camryn, get your ass out here! How dare you freeze my bank card!”

It was none other than Carrie.

The previous night, she treated her aunts and cousins to dinner. Naturally, she was the one who would

pay for the meal.

When she tried to swipe her bank card, the cashier informed her that the transaction was unsuccessful.

She had no other choice but to pay in cash.

It was the cash she withdrew from her safe as well as thirty thousand from the card that Mrs. Clark

gifted her.

She was afraid Mrs. Clark would change her mind and freeze the card, and Carrie could no longer get

a single penny.
