Will believed that the men the matchmaker introduced to Quinn were unattractive.
Dave did not object to the match, while Zoey reminded her son to be considerate of Julian and not hurt
their guest.
Everyone in the Crawford family was trained except Zoey. Due to their competitive nature, they liked to
have matches with people skilled in martial arts.
Julian contemplated whether to go all out or hold back later. However, upon remembering that Quinn
admired strength, he decided to put his all into the match and defeat Will. That way, he could gain
Quinn’s admiration.
He hoped that his future brother-in-law would not hold a grudge against him for it.
After the meal, Julian wanted to help clear the dishes but was stopped by Zoey. She said, “You can go
and talk to Dave. Quinn and I will clean up.”
Julian smiled and said, “It’s okay, Mrs. Crawford. I’m the one who cleans up after every meal in my
family. I’m used to it.”
He needed to exhibit his good side to the Crawfords.
As he spoke, he got to work.
“You must be tired after preparing dinner the entire evening. Why don’t you watch TV? I can help Quinn
with the dishes.”
Zoey could not stop him, but she did not let him work alone. She called her sons over, “Come and help
out. It’ll get the work done faster, and you guys can head to the gym right after.”
Quinn’s brothers obeyed.
Zoey left after handing the task to her sons and sat beside her husband.
Meanwhile, Dave had prepared a fresh pot of tea.
“Julian is such a nice man. Unlike you who always leaves right after meals, he even offered to clean up
and wash the dishes.”
“The Buchams are rich. They must have housekeepers helping them out. He’s just putting on his best
behavior before us.”
Dave took a sip of tea.
“He’s not faking it. He also helped out the last time he was here. I observed him doing house chores,
and he seemed familiar with everything, which could only come with experience. Don’t doubt others
about something you’re not even capable of.
“Maybe his family doesn’t hire housekeepers.”
Dave said, “This man is cunning. You all are deceived by his appearance. He must have some ulterior
motives.”
“What motives can he possibly have? Our family doesn’t have anything worth laying his eyes on. He’s
much wealthier than you. If anything, he should be the one suspecting that we’re after his money.”
Zoey added, “You want to say that Julian’s after our daughter, right? Their interactions are likened to a
friendship. How did you raise your daughter for her to treat men like brothers?novelbin
“Didn’t Quinn mention that Julian’s parents are coming over in a few days? We can see if the Buchams
are easy to get along with then.”
Dave sighed and said, “Julian is just a little too old.”
Zoey agreed. “You’re right. He’s older than Will by two years.”
