Chapter 2561

Cain had also done something unlawful.

The illegal operations were seized, and although the amount involved was not particularly large, it

tarnished the reputation of the Newman family. This led to a drop in the share value and a substantial

decline in the family’s wealth and business.

Now, Camryn had taken control of Newman Enterprise with Callum’s and the company had weathered

the storm.

Camryn had not discussed these matters with him; it was Dalton and Callum who informed him.

He had only learned about the hardships hidden behind his sister’s calm demeanor.

Camryn sought justice for her late father and had both of his parents sent to prison. This was difficult

for him to accept because it meant his parents were criminals. While he had a hard time accepting

Camryn’s “justice over family,” he understood her reasoning.

The Newman family was entirely under Camryn’s control, but she had stated that she would never take

a single penny of what did not belong to her.

Anything that should go to him, she would give him.

As for Carrie, that was a matter for him and her to resolve legally.

Camryn would simply entrust his parents to him. Since his parents only had two children, the resolution

of their affairs was theirs to manage.

“Camryn, I’m heading to class. After this, I’ll request leave and come back. We can talk more when I’m

back.”

“Alright, go ahead.”

After the siblings ended the call, Camryn moved Cain and Paige’s belongings from their room to

Trenton’s as he requested.

Trenton decided that he would inform Carrie about the belongings in her room when she was in a

better mood to deal with it.

From now on, she and Carrie were no longer family.

“Ms. Newman, Mr. Callum is here.”

Camryn acknowledged and picked up her phone. She also grabbed her household registration permit

before heading downstairs.

The butler would manage the rooms’ clearing; she did not need to worry about that.

When she got downstairs, Callum just entered from outside.

“Camryn, are you okay?”

Callum approached, his voice filled with concern.

Camryn smiled, “What could possibly be wrong? This whole house is filled with people who are on our

side. Plus, I’m not the old me, I won’t let them have their way with me.”

Callum examined her from head to toe, making sure she was really fine before he relaxed a little.

“Didn’t I say that you need not come over, yet you are here. Don’t you have to work?”

Holding her hand, Callum sat down on the sofa and said, “I’m still worried, so I came to check. Don’tnovelbin

worry about the company, Josh is at the office while Zack is at home. If there’s any issue, Josh will ask

Zack.”

If something cropped up that they could not handle, the office would have to ask Zachary back to work

even though he was still on his wedding leave.

“Why are you holding the household registration permit?”

Callum only noticed that his fiancée was holding the permit after he sat down.

Camryn looked at him and asked very seriously, “Callum, will you regret marrying me? I’m not as kind

as you imagine. I have a ruthless side too. If you regret it, we can dissolve our engagement. If you

don’t, we can go to City Hall right now and get our marriage license.”

Callum reached out and lightly tapped her forehead, “Who do you think I am? I know your personality

and understand the grievances in your family. If you were excessively kind, like a saint who forgives no

matter how much harm others have done to you, that’s not the woman I want.

“I will not regret it, and I never will in this lifetime!”
