Chapter 2538

Zachary did not have to go to work and they would spend the whole day stuck to each other.

They went downstairs after having breakfast in their room.

Tania and Liam were chatting with Liberty and Duncan in the living room. Sonny was in Tania’s arms.

When Serenity was at the staircase, she heard Tania saying, “Sonny has lost some weight. You should

eat more during lunch later, Sonny. You must be well-fed this weekend. I can’t bear seeing you getting

thinner.”

Liberty laughed. “Aunt Tania, Sonny didn’t lose weight, he gained a few pounds even.”

It was normal for elders to fuss over young children.

“Kids are cuter when they are chubby. I like chubby children.”

As Tania spoke, she gave Sonny a peck on the cheek and said, “Don’t listen to your mom, Sonny. You

should eat more to grow tall.”

Sonny said sweetly, “I can eat a lot, Grandma Tania. I eat more than Aunt Ser.”

“Really? We should have a competition to see who eats more later,” Serenity chimed in.

Sonny saw Serenity walking down. He immediately slid down from Tania’s embrace and ran toward

Serenity happily.

The adults quickly reminded him not to run in case he fell.

Tania was worried that Serenity might rush down the stairs. She cautioned, “Watch your step, Seren.”

Sonny went to Serenity and asked her to carry him.

The maids saw Zachary holding a tray in his hand. They quickly took the tray from him and brought it to

the kitchen to wash.

As soon as Serenity lifted Sonny, he was plucked from her hands into Zachary’s arms.

“Seren, Sonny has been getting heavier. You shouldn’t carry him too often now,” said Zachary gently.novelbin

Then, he told Sonny, “Sonny, you shouldn’t let Aunt Ser carry you before your little sister is born. I’ll

carry you instead.”

Sonny was not mad that Zachary had taken him away from Serenity. When Zachary mentioned a little

sister, he said, “There’s no little sister in Aunt Ser’s belly now, Uncle Zak?”

“Why not?”

“It’s not a little sister but a little brother.”

Zachary asked, “Is it really not a little sister?”

He remembered Sonny saying Alice was carrying a baby boy when he saw her. True enough, Alice

gave birth to a son.

Sonny’s words were strangely accurate.

Although Zachary knew getting a daughter on their first try was difficult, he still held some hope. Since

Sonny said so, his dream of having a firstborn daughter shattered.

“However, Mom said Aunt Ser would like a baby sister. She told me not to mention that Aunt Ser has a

baby boy and that you’ll be happy if I say it’s a little sister. But Mom and the teachers also said children

must not lie and be honest. I’m an honest child.”

Therefore, he told the truth.

Zachary and Serenity exchanged glances. She smiled. “I knew it was false hope.”

Although she was only eight weeks into her pregnancy, her instincts told her she was having a son.

For generations, the York family had been blessed with sons and it was something that could not be

changed easily.
