“I just received a scolding from my mom, because of Celine’s bitching. How am I supposed to be
happy?”
Mr. Fletcher asked, “Shall I come over now to pick you up for a drive?”
Caroline agreed without hesitation.
She had only returned for about two years, which was not a very long time, and she had only made a
few confidants during this period.
Mr. Fletcher was her most trusted subordinate.
He was a few years older than her, and their relationship was a blend of being colleagues and friends.
