Chapter 2519

Camryn was not afraid of Carrie but the person hiding behind her.

They still could not identify the person with the last name Gordon.

“Let me know if you need any help.”

“There’s no need to trouble all of you to deal with Carrie. I can handle this myself. I just can’t find out

the identity of the person she contacted right after coming out of prison.

“Callum said he’d ask Zachary to request Mr. Julian’s assistance to investigate that person. We’re just

worried about being blindsided if they launch an ambush because we don’t know who they are.”

Serenity said, “I’ll let Jasmine know, and she’ll relay the message to Josh. You don’t have to worry

about this.”

“Thank you.”

“Small matter. I hope we all can live in peace.”

Camryn smiled. She said, “No one’s life can always be smooth sailing. There are always bound to be

challenges.”

“You’re right.”

Serenity stared at the sky and said softly, “I feel like a change is beckoning.”

“Well, it’s late fall now. The seasons are changing.”

“By the way, why did Dr. Carden mention that getting pregnant will be difficult for you? I didn’t ask more

about it earlier because Aunt Rosella was there. I was scared she’d be uncomfortable. Although they’re

open-minded parents, they probably wish to have grandchildren soon.”

After all, Callum and the rest were not that young anymore. Most guys their age were already fathers, novelbin

and some already had two children.

Camryn’s gaze turned cold. “Dr. Carden said my mom is inhumane.”

Serenity understood her words. Paige must have caused the deterioration in Camryn’s health.

“She truly is. I can’t even fathom her thoughts. How could she be so cruel? You're her biological child,

regardless of how she and your dad got together. You’re innocent, yet she lashed out all her anger at

you. Why didn’t she lash out at her parents instead?”

Camryn’s voice sounded calm. “My grandparents died after being angered by my mom. She visits their

graves yearly, but who is she putting on a show for?”

“Anything forced will never end up well. Sometimes parents make wrong decisions too.”

Serenity sighed.

“No matter what, your mom shouldn’t have treated you like that.”

Camryn said sarcastically, “She was afraid of me discovering the truth behind my dad’s death. She

never liked me from the start and kept torturing me. Luckily, my condition can be improved. Dr. Carden

said she’s confident that she can cure me.

“My mom’s lawyer told me she wanted to meet me, but I refused. I don’t want to see her. If I do, I might

be down in the dumps for a long time.”

Camryn despised her mother. While she also hated Cain, the hatred she harbored toward her mom

was much stronger.

The ones who hurt her the most were her family.

“You don’t have to meet her if you don’t want to. Don’t ruin your mood for this. What’s the use in

meeting a mom like that? Even if you did, she would probably scold or blame you instead of showing

concern.”

“I thought the same.”
