All of Carrie’s misfortune stemmed from Camryn and Serenity. Her parents, who had protected her allnovelbin
along, were in jail because of Camryn. She bore an irreconcilable grudge against Camryn and refused
to witness her two enemies becoming the Yorks’ daughters-in-law.
As for Trenton, he had been closer to Camryn than he was to Carrie since he was young. He always
accused Carrie of bullying Camryn too.
Carrie knew she could not count on Trenton to work with her.
She was young and lacking in connections and capability. It seemed she had no choice but to join
forces with other people.

because of her dad. They were considered family and could be of help too.
Aunt Amy and Aunt Brenda disliked Camryn. They would never sit and watch Camryn take over the
family business.
“Your aunts aren’t that dependable either. The Joyners and Chandlers, especially your cousins, tried to
run the company in your family’s stead after Mr. Newman went to jail. However, they lost to Camryn
and Mr. Mitchell in the end.
“Your cousins were fired and forced to leave Newman Enterprise. They and your aunts were
dissatisfied and kept pestering Camryn, demanding to return to the company. Camryn turned ruthless.
She used the Yorks’ power to disrupt the Joyners’ and Chandlers’ businesses.
“They lost their companies and are in debt now. In order to clear their debt, they had to sell off their
houses, cars, and luxury items. They’re now living in a rented house. Your aunts also had to work as
cleaners to earn a meager salary despite their advanced age. What a terrible situation they’re in.”
Upon hearing that, Carrie scolded, “Camryn, you blind bitch. How can you be so cruel? Just wait. I’ll
take all of my dad’s assets back. Does she think I'll be afraid of her just because she has the York
family’s backing?”
She had taken joy in bullying Camryn ever since she could remember and always looked down on her.
Carrie had witnessed the evilness of humanity in prison. She was no longer the clueless Carrie that she
was before.
She would regain everything that belonged to her.
