Chapter 2444

As Quinn mentioned, it was best to keep up a lie forever once it started. Otherwise, one must come

clean as early as possible and ask for forgiveness to prevent the lie from snowballing.

Julian could never deceive her for his entire life.

After all, he had to manage the Buchams’ business. Quinn would also have to meet his family after

getting married to him. There was no way the lie could last forever.

Quinn asked curiously, “Did that friend of yours lie to the person he likes or a friend?”

“He lied to the woman he fell in love with at first sight. He opened up to me because he didn’t know

what to do. I didn’t know what to tell him. He lied to her, fearing she might leave him after finding out

that he would constantly be in danger or targeted.”

“My advice is not to lie about feelings. Although I’ve never dated someone, I think I’ll beat my boyfriend

up and never contact each other again if he deceives me.”

Julian was shocked. Quinn was more ruthless than Serenity.

After swallowing the food, he asked, “You’ll never contact or meet him again?”

That was pretty serious.

“How can I live the rest of my life with a dishonest and insincere person? Who can guarantee that he

won’t lie to me in the future? Aren’t marriages supposed to be based on true and sincere love?

Anyway, I won’t tolerate my boyfriend lying to me.”

Quinn added, “A person’s character can be judged by the smallest actions. A man like that isn’t worth

my time.”

After speaking, she laughed. “My mom would surely scold me if she heard what I said. She’ll blame me

for being too particular and state that’s why I don’t have a boyfriend at twenty-four.

“But this is how I am. I’d rather stay single than be with someone who can’t treat me sincerely. I don’t

want to marry someone who’ll lie to me anytime.”

Julian’s palm was getting clammy.

He felt fortunate that he talked to Quinn about it and learned her boundaries with deception.

Since they were not officially a couple yet, it could not be considered as him playing with her feelings.

He would reveal his identity as the heir of the Buchams to Quinn and only start courting her after being

friends for some time.

Julian dared not deceive Quinn from then onward.

“Is the friend you’re talking about Mr. York? Didn’t he lie to Mrs. York back then?” Quinn asked.

Julian smiled nonchalantly. “It’s not him, but he did lie to Serenity in the past. She was so mad about

being tricked for a long time, and they almost broke up. I was talking about another friend of mine. He’s

almost following in Zachary’s footsteps.”

Quinn said, “Doesn’t your friend know about Mr. York’s experience? Why is he committing the same

mistake again?”

Julian replied, “You have a point there. I’ll advise him properly next time, to be sincere and stop lying.

Regardless of the reason, it’s not right to deceive someone, right?

“If the roles were reversed and we’re the ones being deceived, we’d be angry too. While some may be

forgiving, there are also others who won’t believe in those who once lied to them. They might even cut

off all contact with them.”

Quinn hummed in agreement. “That’s right. Anyway, I can’t tolerate people lying to me, especially if the

person is my boyfriend with whom I want to get married. How can I sleep in peace? Having a liar as a

husband can be fatal too.”novelbin
