Chapter 2432

“Let’s go out for a walk. It’s not sunny today, but it’s a little windy. We can walk around the yard and

enjoy the breeze and the scenery. That’s the life.”

“Nana, you just had your breakfast.”

Grandma May said, “We can take it easy. It won’t be around the estate. We’ll just take a short walk

nearby.”

Since Grandma May insisted, Serenity accompanied her for a stroll.

“Did you have morning sickness today?” Grandma May asked with concern.

Serenity was about to give her usual answer when she realized she had not thrown up this morning.

She exclaimed in surprise, “Nana, I don’t think so. I didn’t feel nauseous when I woke up this morning.”

She changed her clothes, washed up, then left the bathroom, and took Sonny downstairs for breakfast.

She was so busy with the routine that she did not realize she had not puked. Did this mean that her

nausea days were over?

Grandma May said with a smile, “It’ll get better. It seems you won’t have morning sickness until your

due date like Ally. At least, we don’t have to worry about that.”

Everybody was worried that Serenity would experience nausea until her due date.

“My baby feels bad for me. It must have known I’m exhausted, so it wants to take it easy with me.

“Alice has it tough. Her due date is coming up soon. She said that she doesn’t want to have another

child, and Clive doesn’t want her to go through a hard pregnancy again either.”

Alice loved children, but she was having a difficult pregnancy. Since she had horrible morning sickness,

and Clive nagged at her with worry every day, they planned to only have one child, regardless of

whether they had a son or daughter.

She had accepted that it was not a bad idea to have one child. The child would get all the parents’ love

without having to share it with other siblings.

“If you hadn’t gotten upset, Zack would’ve become like Clive.”

Grandma May said with a smile, “You finally had a wedding. Now I don’t have to worry about yournovelbin

marriage. I had been on edge for the past year or so, worried that you might get into fights and silent

treatments.”

Although her other grandsons had not been successful in courting their future wives, they did not

experience the drama Zachary and Serenity went through in their love story.

Besides, Zachary had become an example to his cousins and brothers of what not to do. No one dared

to lie about who they were to their better halves. Compared to Zachary, they had experienced fewer

conflicts in their relationships.

“Thank you, Nana. You’re the reason I have a stable and happy life.”

Serenity was grateful to Grandma May.

She did not know it before, but she knew now that Grandma May orchestrated the life-saving incident.

Grandma May was trying to set her and Zachary up then.

Liberty’s broken marriage fueled Grandma May’s plan. Ironically, the old lady had Hank’s cheating to

thank for. If Hank had not cheated and turned his back on Liberty and Serenity, Serenity would have

never agreed to marry Zachary.

“I should thank you. You mellowed Zack and gave him a family. When it’s time for us elders to go, he’ll

still have you and your child. We can leave the world knowing everything is taken care of.”

“Nana, you will live to be a centenarian.”

Grandma uttered with a grin, “Not many live to a hundred. No one lives forever. It isn’t hard to embrace

growing old and facing death.

“I’ll be happy and have no regrets because I can see all my grandsons get married and start families of

their own. Oh, I should add that I hope to have a great-granddaughter in my lifetime.”

Serenity rubbed her belly at the mention of a great-granddaughter. She told Grandma May, “Nana, I

think I’m carrying a boy. You might want to put your hope on Camryn or Hayden to give you a girl.”

“I don’t mind the gender. It’s just that the Yorks have not had a girl for generations. I wanted a girl when

I was young, but I gave birth to all boys. When I became a grandmother, I hoped for a girl, but again, I

had all grandsons. I just got a little obsessed with breaking the cycle. That’s all.

“Don’t pressure yourself, Seren. I hope to have a great-granddaughter, but I don’t mind if I don’t. We

don’t always get what we want in the world.”

God gave Grandma May a happy marriage and the best sons and grandsons but not daughters and

granddaughters.
