Chapter 2392
Dave pulled himself together and got acquainted with Julian through Quinn’s introduction. Then, he
courteously welcomed Julian into the house.
Quinn’s brothers, Will and Mark, had not returned home.
Julian stepped into the house and put down the gifts he brought.
Dave asked him to have a seat and said, “You didn’t have to, Mr. Bucham.”
“Your daughter saved me. I was nearly robbed on my way home from an event. Your daughter
happened to come by the same way and beat up the robbers. She even called the cops for me.
“I’m sorry to intrude, Mr. Crawford.”
Dave smiled at the mention that Quinn had saved Julian. He said, “We always help out when we can. It
was no biggie. You don’t have to get us anything when you visit.”
“Why don’t you serve our guest a drink, Quinn?”
Zoey emerged from the kitchen in an apron.
Quinn introduced Julian to her mother.
Julian stood up as Zoey approached. After Quinn’s introduction, he politely said hello.
Zoey did not hear the conversation that went on, so she thought Quinn brought her boyfriend back to
meet the parents.
She exchanged pleasantries with Julian and said with a smile, “Have a seat, Julian. I’m making dinner.
Why don’t you join us later?”
“You weren’t expecting me, Mrs. Crawford. I don’t want to be a bother.”
“Not at all. You’re not a bother.”
Zoey gave Quinn a look to serve a beverage to the guest.
Once the mother and daughter went into the kitchen, Zoey asked, “Is that your boyfriend? When didnovelbin
you get a boyfriend? How long have you been together? Why haven’t I seen you going on a date? Why
did you take him home to meet with us now?”
While interrogating Quinn, Zoey also took out her phone to call her son. As soon as Will picked up, she
said, “Get more groceries when you come back. Your sister brought her boyfriend back. You and Mark
should hurry home too.”
“Mom, Mr. Bucham isn’t my boyfriend. He’s here to enroll in our gym, but Will should get more
groceries. We can’t skimp on serving our guest.”
“Tell Will to get a bag of mozzarella sticks for me too.”
Zoey hung up the call.
She glared at Quinn. “He’s not your boyfriend?”
Here Zoey thought her daughter had gotten herself a handsome boyfriend.
Zoey assumed Quinn kept the boyfriend a secret and wanted to surprise them. Alas, Julian was not her
future son-in-law.
It turned out Julian merely wanted to join the family gym.
“Of course not. I’ve only known Mr. Bucham for a few days. He can’t be my boyfriend.”
Quinn explained how she got to know Julian.
It put a damper on Zoey’s enthusiasm.
Zoey mumbled, “He could sign up with any gym. Why did he come all the way to ours? He was all
dressed up and brought gifts. I thought my future son-in-law had come to visit me.
“Thank goodness you gave me the whole story before I called our friends and family over to check him
out. That would have been embarrassing.”
Quinn had no words.
