Chapter 2384

Things would have been different if so. Belinda only had one option now—Caroline.

Moments later, Celine barged in.

Belinda frowned upon seeing her adopted daughter while she was reminiscing about her past.novelbin

Frustration overtook her expression, and she said, “How many times have I told you to knock before

entering? You never listen.”

The daughter she had spent much effort raising did not even have basic etiquette.

She had spoiled Celine rotten.

Belinda was glad that Celine was not her biological daughter. Otherwise, she would have been angered

to death upon seeing the successor she spent over two decades nurturing being such a failure.”

“Sorry, Mom. I forgot.”

Celine immediately went out and closed the door. Then, she knocked on the door again and only

entered after obtaining Belinda’s permission.

She sat opposite Belinda.

“I want to ask you something, Mom. Did our family receive the York family’s invitation?”

Since Celine could not attend the wedding as Hayden’s partner, she considered going to the wedding

with Belinda.

However, their family would have to be invited.

“We did. Why?”

“Let me go with you, Mom.”

Celine added, “I no longer have to manage the company or handle family matters. I’m bored every day

because I have nothing to do. I can tag along with you to the wedding.”

Belinda looked at Celine and scoffed. “You must’ve been rejected by Mr. Queen, right?”

“That’s for sure. It’s so difficult to win his heart. Please take me with you, Mom. I haven’t attended such

a grand occasion in a long time.”

Celine knew how grand the wedding would be from the rumors. It would not be an exaggeration to say

that it was the wedding of the century.

Many prominent figures were invited from all over the world. The guest list was not limited to only those

living in Wiltspoon and it would be a great opportunity to form connections.

Belinda said indifferently, “I just called Caroline over and told her to look after the company. I have to be

somewhere and will only return after half a month or a whole month.

“I’m not even bringing Caroline along with me.”

She believed Celine could read between the lines.

“Your dad will be home too,” added Belinda.

Celine’s face fell. “Why can’t you take me with you, Mom? I’m your daughter too. You promised to treat

Caroline and me equally.”

“I’ve decided not to take any of you with me. I want to relax and spend some time alone.”

Celine pouted but said no more.

It would be normal if Belinda did not take Caroline with her. However, since Belinda did not even

consider bringing Hunter, Celine knew she stood no chance.

Belinda opened a drawer upon seeing Celine unhappy. She retrieved a velvet box and gave it to

Celine.

“I have a necklace suitable for young girls like you and Caroline. Since Caroline doesn’t seem

interested in jewelry, you can have it.”

Celine opened and peeked into the velvet box. The necklace was branded and expensive, worth

hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Eager to wear the necklace, she immediately smiled and thanked her mother. Once she did, she

asked, “Do I look good, Mom?”
