Chapter 2354

Mrs. Lane served the guests beverages, fruit, and snacks.

Elisa took a seat and found the courage to carry the baby one more time. She asked for Chloe from her

future mother-in-law once again.

The baby stared at Elisa with her bright eyes and flashed a smile.

“Chloe smiled at me.”

The infant’s toothless grin brought Elisa so much joy that she gave Chloe multiple smooches.

Antonia was very pleased with Elisa as her future daughter-in-law. Although she loved Jane as her

daughter-in-law too, Elisa’s personality shared more similarities with hers, so she found Elisa easier to

get along with.

She smiled and said, “Chloe rarely smiles. I think she likes her new aunt.”

Jane jumped in. “Chloe is like her father. Although it’s too early to tell for sure as she is only a few

months old, her personality may become apparent in a few years. She doesn’t cry much and usually

keeps to herself.”

Chloe would not smile at those she only met a handful of times.

Elisa was Remy’s love, and had only met Chloe twice. However, Chloe smiled at her, which meant thatnovelbin

Chloe must love her too.

“She is her daddy’s girl. Her father is an outstanding man.”

Serenity leaned closer and played with Chloe. She told Antonia with a smile, “My nana must be happy

that you brought the children along.”

“Yeah. Grandma May couldn’t let go of Chloe. I wouldn’t be able to take Chloe back if I wasn’t Chloe’s

grandmother.”

Serenity caressed her belly. “I’m curious about my baby’s gender. Everybody hopes I’m carrying a girl,

but my gut is telling me that he’s my little Zachary.”

Her in-laws were hopeful of her pregnancy.

The psychic did a reading and said that she and Zachary were meant to have a daughter and a son.

“It’s lovely to have either a son or a daughter.”

As someone who had been through it all, Antonia comforted Serenity, “The gender doesn’t matter. It’s

every parent’s wish to raise their children well. I have lamented that I have only two sons, but I gained

two daughters-in-law in return.

“Daughters-in-law are like daughters. I see Jane as my own, and Elisa will be my daughter too. I love

Elisa and Jane all the same.”

Elisa blushed. Jane said with a smile, “Look, Antonia. Elisa is blushing.”

Although her cheeks were crimson, Elisa graciously said, “You’ll be a mother to me too, Antonia.”

Elisa did not only consider the man’s qualities when picking her life partner, but also his family’s

situation.

Her main concern was whether she could get along with her future mother-in-law.

Elisa had witnessed Audrey under constant criticism of her grandmother. Audrey was an excellent

woman, carrying herself with grace in social settings and running the house smoothly. Elisa’s

grandfather trusted Audrey, but her grandmother was always finding fault with her. The air was always

tense between her grandmother and mother.

She wanted to have a supportive and understanding mother-in-law to minimize potential conflicts

between a daughter-in-law and a mother-in-law.

That was why Elisa had her eye on Zachary as he and his family’s culture were ideal for her.

In fact, Elisa was right. Zachary’s mother, Tania, was a great mother-in-law.

At first, Tania was not fond of Serenity, but she had done nothing to hurt Serenity. Tania would defend

her daughter-in-law whenever others were critical of Serenity.

Tania never badmouthed her daughter-in-law to others and would not intrude on her son’s and

daughter-in-law’s lives. Tania made a sensible and respectful mother-in-law.

Elisa was happy with Antonia too. Despite her wealth and power, Antonia was down-to-earth and easy-

going.
