Chapter 2348

“Ms. Stone,” Mrs. Lane greeted Elisa with a smile.

“Why are you here, Mrs. Lane?”

A grin lit up Elisa’s face when she saw a familiar face.

“Mrs. York has moved back here, so Mr. York assigned a few of us here to look after her. Jim is here

too.”

Zachary had sent them over as they were most familiar with Serenity and Liberty. He told Mrs. Lane

that she and Jim would be working at Liberty’s villa in the future. They could continue drawing their

salary from him, which he had even raised.

Liberty and Sonny were closest to Mrs. Lane and Jim out of all the helpers and bodyguards working for

Zachary. That was the rationale behind his arrangements.

Serenity would only be in a good mood if Liberty and Sonny were doing well.

Elisa said, “That does sound like something Zachary would do. He gets all the nitty-gritty right when it

comes to Seren. What an attentive man.”

She used to think Zachary was cold and heartless. Her many years of crush on him was never

reciprocated.

Zachary did not spare Elisa a glance even after she pursued him openly for some time. She thought

Zachary was born incapable of gentleness and caring for others. However, she realized later that it was

not true. His tenderness was simply reserved for someone special.

Luckily, the woman Zachary loved was her cousin and not any other outsider.

Mrs. Lane smiled. “Mrs. York is the apple of Mr. York’s eye. He cherishes her deeply.”

She opened the villa's gates and told Elisa, “You may drive your car in, Ms. Stone.”

“Sure. I’ll park my car inside because I won’t be leaving anytime soon. I’ll be having lunch with Seren

later. By the way, will Zachary come over for lunch? I don’t want to be a third-wheeler.”

Mrs. Lane replied, “Mr. York has been extremely busy. He only has time to visit Mrs. York at night.”

Zachary had been swamped with work because of the wedding. Still, he would always make time to

visit Serenity every day.

“I thought he’d also move over here and only return home on the morning of the wedding,” Elisa

teased.

Mrs. Lane beamed. “He did think of doing that, but Old Mrs. York told him off. Ms. Liberty did not allow

him to stay as well. Mr. and Mrs. York would act like star-crossed lovers every night.”novelbin

Elisa giggled. That did sound like what Zachary would do.

She got back into the car and parked it in the villa.

Since Zachary was the one who bought the villa, its layout and decor were arranged according to his

tastes.

Liberty had few expectations of a house, let alone a mere child like Sonny, so nothing about the house

was modified when they moved in.

“Is Liberty not in?”

“Yes. She went for a grocery run, and Sonny’s at preschool. He was sulking before heading out. He

said he didn’t want to attend school and preferred to accompany Mrs. York at home instead.”

Upon mentioning Sonny, Mrs. Lane’s smile reached her eyes.

Elisa entered the house and said, “Sonny’s just like me. I had to be carried into the car to go to school.”
