Chapter 2341

Julian said, “Ms. Crawford, you don’t have to be so polite. We’re friends now, and you also saved my

life.”

Quinn smiled. “Okay. Let’s not be too polite with each other. I find it awkward too. I prefer being casual,

so being overly courteous makes me uncomfortable. You don’t have to keep mentioning that I’m your

savior too, Mr. Bucham. I simply lent a hand by fighting while I was on a stroll after a meal.”

Both of them laughed.

Since Quinn had no intention of getting out of the car to admire the flowers, Julian drove straight up the

hill.

He guessed Quinn did not fancy flowers much.

The car stopped midhill. Quinn spotted a security post that was meant to carry out car inspections.

The security guards stationed at the post allowed Julian’s car to pass as soon as they saw him.

Quinn was curious. “Why is there a roadblock?”

“Well, Wildridge Manor belongs to the York family. Outsiders are prohibited from entering. There used

to be only one security post at the manor’s gates. However, since Zachary and Serenity married, many

people have been trying to reach the hilltop to pry into their private life.

“Zachary added a roadblock midhill for the manor’s safety. The guards are on a three-shifts rotation for

twenty-hours daily. Those not granted permission can only move freely around and before the midhill

mark.”

Quinn replied with a hum. She suddenly realized how complicated wealthy families were. Even their

movements were restricted.

Luckily, she was only there for a tour and would leave shortly after. She would not feel restrained.

When that thought flashed across Quinn’s mind, she laughed mockingly at herself. Not just anyone

could marry into wealthy families. Why was she overthinking when she had no chance of her freedom

being restrained? Besides, she did not want to marry into a prominent family and would be content with

an ordinary one.

Quinn was the daughter of a family that owned a gym and had been learning martial arts since she was

a kid. Although she was pretty and well-mannered, men who knew her background would never

consider her as their partner.

Once, a matchmaker tried to introduce a guy to her. However, he was unwilling to even meet her after

knowing she was trained in martial arts from a young age. He said he was afraid of being domestically

abused.

Quinn did not know whether to cry or laugh about it. She finally understood the reason behind her

being single for her entire life.

The men must have thought she was difficult to handle as she was skilled in martial arts. If conflicts

arose between them, they would not be able to win against her either.

Men with such thoughts were not worth considering anyway.

Quinn did not mind being single. She was not in a rush to get married.

Some of her best friends got married a year after graduating from university. Their married life was a

mess; often complained to her and envied her for being single.

The car soon reached the hilltop.

Wildridge Manor was built on top of a low hill with a flat peak.

As Julian mentioned, a security post was at the manor’s entrance. When the guard on duty saw Julian,

he opened the gates and granted the three cars entry.

The first thing they saw was an open parking lot.

The butler at Wildridge Manor received Zachary’s prior notice that Julian would bring a girl to the manor

for a visit. Zachary had instructed the butler to make the necessary arrangements and not reveal

Julian’s true identity.

After parking, Julian told Quinn, “We have to park our car at this open parking lot. The car can’t go any

further from this point as it’ll be where the York family usually hangs out. We’ll walk on the path to thenovelbin

right of the parking lot to the back of the manor. That’s where the best view is.”

Quinn agreed. “We’re only here to visit. Let’s not disturb the Yorks as much as possible.”

She got out of the car with Julian and the twelve children alighted too.

They were obedient and quiet as it was an unfamiliar place to them. They trotted after Julian and Quinn

to the butler.

“Mr. Bucham,” the butler greeted Julian with a smile.
