Chapter 2320

Hayden would not even look at Celine. Yet, the man was nice to a country bumpkin like Caroline.

“Mom, I’ll go with Caroline tomorrow,” Celine proposed since Caroline mentioned buying Hayden a

meal.

Madam Fisher said indifferently, “Don’t go, Celine. You know what Mr. Queen thinks of you. I don’t care

how you approach Mr. Queen. I only want results. But Caroline is treating Mr. Queen to a meal, which

will be beneficial for the company. You can’t ruin this for us.

“Caroline, I don’t have a problem if Mr. Queen accepts your invitation. I’m happy that you closed the

deal tonight. I’ll get you a new car tomorrow. You can pick one yourself at the dealership. Your budget

is five million dollars.”

Celine uttered with envy, “Mom, my car isn’t even that expensive.”

Caroline replied, “You’re adopted, but I’m the biological daughter. How can you compare yourself to

me? Celine, you should know where you stand.”

Celine had no words and showed her mom those puppy dog eyes.

Madam Fisher pretended not to see them and did not take her side.

Celine realized that even though Madam Fisher was strict and stern with Caroline, they were mother

and daughter after all.

She was losing ground to Caroline. Her adoptive mother was verbally kind to her, but what was the

point?

“Hunter.”

Madam Fisher told her husband, “We should drop the subject of marriage for now since Caroline

doesn’t want to get married yet. Caroline is old enough to make her own decisions. Marriage is a huge

thing anyway. She needs to find someone she likes.

“We can share our opinions with her, but we can’t decide for her. She can choose the man she wants.

She isn’t thirty yet, and she’s busy building a career. Give it a few more years.”

Once Caroline got control over the family, she could consider taking a husband.

“Evan, see Mr. Wright out.”

Madam Fisher did not even look at Marcus when she spoke. Clearly, she was unimpressed by him.

Marcus was livid, but he could not show it on his face. He could not go against Madam Fisher.

All of Jensburg knew that women reigned in the Fisher family. The members of the Fisher family dared

not challenge Madam Fisher’s authority, much less Marcus, who came from a moderately wealthy

family.

Marcus got up and said goodbye to everyone with a smile. He then took a good look at Caroline and

went with the housekeeper.

Once Marcus was gone, Madam Fisher rose to her feet and said, “Come with me upstairs, Caroline. I

need a word with you.”

“Okay.” Caroline stood up and followed suit.

After the mother and daughter left, Celine sat by Hunter and held his arm. She simpered, “Dad, I want

to go with Caroline to treat Mr. Queen. Can you put the word out to Mom for me?novelbin

“Mom is starting to take Caroline’s side. Dad, you’re the only one treating me the same.”

Hunter doted on Celine. Madam Fisher too, but she was too busy with work to spend time with Celine.

Before Belinda and Hunter knew their daughter was switched, Celine was the heiress to the family, the

couple’s only daughter.

Hunter loved his only daughter and often took Celine to meet with his family to bond. When Celine was

to assume the role of the family head, Hunter hoped Celine would be kind to his family for his sake. At

least, his family could stand tall and proud too.

Although Celine did not share his last name, they came from the same bloodline.
