“Yes, but I won. Well, now you had to place a bet with me.”
Hayden’s heart went out to Kevin.
“Alright. I mean what I said. I don’t go back on my word. I’ll take the risk with you.”
Now that Kevin had her word, he jolted up and said, “Excuse me, I need to go to the men’s room.”
With his hands over his stomach, Kevin ran to the washroom.
Hayden burst out laughing. She could tell Kevin’s feelings for her were genuine.
A while later, Kevin emerged from the bathroom.
“Do you need to go to the hospital?” Hayden asked with concern.
Straightening his back, Kevin said, “No. I’m okay. Let’s go for a stroll to help the food settle. Then, we
can head out.”
He had never eaten so much in his life. He was so full, he had an upset stomach. Fortunately, he won
the bet.
He won her promise of forever. She gambled on her marriage, but he did too.
Hayden rose to her feet and docilely uttered, “Come on. I’ll walk with you.”
The pair walked out of the main residence.
Hayden took Kevin around her lawn. It was a good thing her lawn was huge because after strolling fornovelbin
two rounds, Kevin was feeling a lot better.
“You shouldn’t eat too much even if you want to win. You were breaking out in cold sweat before you
went to the bathroom.
“I have to give it my all for our future together.”
Kevin took her hand. Instead of slapping his hand away, Hayden let him hold hers.
The butler saw the couple strolling hand-in-hand. Kevin had charmed his brilliant employer, and the
butler did not like it one bit.
However, Donald and Sophia were fond of Kevin and considered him as a future son-in-law.
Then again, Donald and Sophia probably saw Kevin as their daughter-in-law.
The butler felt bad for Hayden, who now had a change of sexual preference because of Kevin, but it
was not his place to say anything.
He was only a butler. The Queens may treat him like family, but he should not overstep his boundaries.
“Does your stomach still hurt?”
“No. I felt a lot better after the trip to the bathroom. I might get hungry again after walking a few more
rounds.”
Hayden laughed. “I thought you were going to pass on supper tonight.”
“No. Tonight is our first date. How can I skip supper? Come on. I’ll take you swimming. I know a place
at Fortress Hotel. The security is tight there.”
Hayden put down her walls and let him into her heart. She was used to dressing up as a man, and he
did not want to change her. All that mattered was her comfort level.
Hayden could do whatever she pleased so long as it made her happy and comfortable.
It did not matter what everybody else said and Hayden was on board with the idea.
Ten minutes later, Kevin drove Hayden out. Her security detail could not come along.
The butler opened the gate for them and stood at the entrance, watching as Kevin’s Maybach drove
away.
It took a while before he sighed. What was he to say if Hayden liked Kevin and was happy.
Even Donald and Sophia had accepted Kevin.
“Hayden, does the butler have a problem with me?” Kevin asked Hayden while behind the wheel.
He was always nice to the butler. In fact, Kevin would bring some gifts to the butler every time he
visited Hayden’s place.
Kevin treated the butler with the same respect that the Queens did.
Hayden pursed her lips and replied, “He believes you have ruined my reputation and changed my
sexual preference, so of course, he has a problem with you.”
Kevin chuckled. “People think I’m crazy, but I know the truth.”
