Chapter 2290

Quinn agreed with Julian. They chatted during the meal like they were old friends.

Julian’s personality was similar to Quinn’s, so they got along well.

He was glad that the woman destined for him was a perfect match in every way.

Meanwhile, at Johnson Group, a subsidiary of FC & Co., where Remy was in charge of the company.

He was the CEO assigned by the headquarters to be stationed at Wiltspoon long-term.

Remy returned to the company from the Stones’ villa in the evening.

Everyone noticed that their boss’s mood had changed. There was a serious expression on his

handsome face.

Who offended Mr. Johnson?

Remy was the most easy-going person among the men of the Johnsons. He would smile at everyone,

even when he was talking. With that, people let their guard down unconsciously.

He rarely looked tense or had stern expressions. Did something serious happen in the company?

Everyone had their guesses, but no one dared to ask.

They worked harder than usual that day, fearing something might have indeed happened to the

company and the possibility of retrenchment. Those who did not work seriously would be the first to be

retrenched.

It was difficult to find a job, let alone a good one.

They cherished their jobs.

Johnson Group’s incentives were comparable to that of York Corporation. Being employed here carried

an enviable status in Wiltspoon.

Remy returned to his office. His secretary served a cup of coffee and left quietly.

He did not drink the coffee right away and sat on the chair for a moment. He then got up and walked to

the floor-to-ceiling windows and watched the blue sky and white clouds.

After some time, he returned to his desk and sat on the black office chair again. He took his phone and

called his older brother.

When Ben picked up, he asked, “Are you busy, Ben?”

“Mm, I’m pretty busy. What’s wrong? Did something happen there?” Ben asked out of concern.

He entrusted Remy with everything pertaining to Johnson Group. As the CEO of FC & Co., he rarely

meddled in the subsidiary’s affairs. He would only show up when there were issues that Remy could

not solve.

Even so, that rarely happened. Remy's work capabilities were on par with Ben's; he just did not desire

to be the head of the family.

“It’s not about the company. It’s a personal relationship problem.”

Things related to business would not trouble Remy. Every day, he would only be anxious about his and

Elisa’s future.

He feared she would be snatched away by someone else.

“Did you and Ms. Stone fight?” Ben thought his brother quarreled with his girlfriend.

“Was it your fault or Ms. Stone’s fault?”

Ben considered teaching his brother the tricks he used to coax his wife.

“Neither of us was at fault. Mr. and Mrs. Bucham brought gifts to Elisa’s house and proposed a

marriage between their families this afternoon.”

Ben was speechless.
