Chapter 2250

“Is Duncan home?”

“Yeah, he’s back. He’s resting in his room.”

Corey drew near. “Why are you up?”

Derek closed the magazine. “You’re worried about our son, and so am I. I can’t get a good night’s rest

until Duncan is home. I need to hear the sound of his car to know he’s back before I can sleep.”

“I know, right? Neither of us can sleep until he’s home.”

“Did he say why he was late home tonight? What did you talk to him about?”

Corey sat in bed and pulled the covers while saying, “He was waiting for Liberty. He came home from

escorting Liberty home after she was finished with work. Liberty was really busy today, but she won’t

work this late anymore. Our son is doing well. Don’t worry. It’s late. Get some sleep. We didn’t talk

much, only a little about his future with Liberty.”

Derek waited until his wife was down and cozy before killing the lights. “What’s the point of talking

about that? Duncan hasn’t fully recovered yet. He won’t be together with Liberty for fear he would be a

burden to her. Let them go at their own pace, and we can watch the magic happen.”

“Yeah, I didn’t say much. I hope we can see Duncan get married and have children before our time on

earth is up.”

“We will,” Derek offered his wife comfort.

He carried the same hope that his youngest son and Liberty would find happiness and start a family

together.

While the students were in slumberland, Quinn snuck out for supper.

Her daytime was occupied with chaperoning the kids to a competition. She barely had time to explore

Wiltspoon.

Quinn wanted to wander alone and enjoy supper, but she had to wait until the unruly kids were sound

asleep.

She was not in a hurry to return to the hotel after filling her belly. It was not far away and it would only

take half an hour to get back to the hotel on foot.

Quinn decided to walk back.

As night fell, the bustling from the day in Wiltspoon grew quieter.

A car would zip past along the main street every now and then as if a monster was chasing it.

Those cars belonged to those who worked late into the night. They were in a rush to get home and

rest.

Although it was the dead of the night, Quinn still thought Wiltspoon a beautiful city. She admired the

sights on foot, stopping occasionally to snap a picture of the wonderful scenery.

Another vehicle zoomed past Quinn, but it was soon forced to pull over.

Quinn observed from afar and saw the motorbikes that caused the car to stop.

Motorbikes were banned citywide, so these riders must have ulterior motives to be on the streets at this

hour.

Quinn was a helpful and bold woman. Armed with her fighting skills, she quickened her pace and

approached the vehicle that was forced to halt.

After forcing the car to a stop, the motorbike riders made the driver get out of the car. The man sitting

on one of the motorbikes brandished a metal baseball bat, threatening to smash the driver’s car if they

did not comply.

The driver got out of the vehicle in fear, worried that their car would be trashed.novelbin
