Chapter 2239

After much silence, Liberty said, “They won’t now, but they might do it in the future. We can raisenovelbin

Sonny well, so Sonny can make his own decisions. His father paid for child support after all. I won’t

stop the boy from having a relationship with the Browns.”

“Yeah. Let’s end this conversation here, Liberty. Today is the opening of your new restaurant. We

should keep the mood uplifted for a booming business.”

Liberty smiled. “I appreciate it. My restaurant will thrive.”

She was confident with her business management and cooking.

“Ms. Hunt.”

A server entered the restaurant with a strange man.

“Ms. Hunt, this mister insists on meeting you. He said he came all the way from Jensburg.”

Jensburg?

The sisters turned to look at the strange man.

The man politely extended his right hand to Liberty. After the handshake, he turned to Serenity, who

was next to Liberty, and asked with a smile, “You must be Ms. Serenity Hunt, the wife of Zachary York. I

heard a lot about you in Jensburg.”

He then reached his right hand out to Serenity.

Out of courtesy, Serenity shook his hand too. The man said with a smile, “Pleased to meet you, Ms.

Serenity.”

Serenity grinned. “How should I address you?”

“Call me Mr. Fletcher.”

“Mr. Fletcher, did Ms. Caroline Fisher send you?” Liberty asked.

In the whole of Jensburg, Liberty only knew Caroline Fisher.

Out of the members of the Fisher family, only Caroline was interested in uncovering the truth behind

the power struggle between the Fisher sisters from decades ago.

The last time Caroline was in Wiltspoon, she went to the Stones’ residence to visit Audrey. She only

stayed for a short time though as she had to rush back before Madam Fisher realized she was missing.

Later, Audrey used Caroline’s blood to do a DNA test, and the result verified everybody’s suspicion.

Audrey was related to Caroline, and the assumption was that they were cousins.

Mr. Fletcher gave a nod before checking out the décor of the restaurant. He looked at the room full of

patrons and said to Liberty with a smile, “The miss sent me to wish you a thriving business.”

“Thank you.”

Liberty knew Mr. Fletcher was affiliated with Caroline.

Mr. Fletcher pulled out a card, but unlike everybody else’s thick envelopes stuffed with cash, he slipped

a bank card inside the card.

“Ms. Hunt, this is from the miss, her gift for the opening of your restaurant. I hope you will accept it.”

Liberty refused, saying, “It’s an honor that Ms. Fisher sent you to give her congratulations, and that’s

more than enough. I can’t accept Ms. Fisher’s generous gift.”

Mr. Fletcher looked at Liberty cheerfully and uttered, “The miss said that in the event you refused the

gift, I should tell you that you can’t push away a gift from your elders.”

Liberty had no words.

If Caroline and Audrey were cousins, it would make Caroline an aunt to Liberty and Serenity. Even

though Caroline was younger than Liberty, she could claim seniority over Liberty as an aunt.

“Ms. Hunt, this is a token of the miss’s regard. She hopes you can accept it, so I can report back to her

with the job done.”

Mr. Fletcher made a sad face and added, “I’ll be punished if I can’t complete the task given by the miss.

On top of that, I’ll lose three months of bonus. Ms. Hunt, although I don’t have children and have only

my parents to care for, it will hurt me to lose the three months of bonus.”
