Chapter 2235

“I got it, Liberty. I’m almost there.”

Serenity said with a smile, “Zachary’s driving. He’s steady behind the wheel.”

Liberty felt assured as Zachary was trustworthy.

The sisters ended the phone conversation.

Duncan waited until Liberty put away the phone before asking, “Are Serenity and Zachary nearly here?”

“They said they were five minutes away, so they should be here in no time. The ceremony will go on as

planned. Mr. Lewis, do you want to go inside for a break?”

The dark bags under Duncan’s eyes tugged on Liberty’s heartstrings.

The man had put a lot of effort into getting her new restaurant set up.

He often stayed up late with her.

After the divorce, Liberty stopped believing in love and marriage. Now that she was faced with

Duncan’s affection, she felt that she should not have tarred every man with the same brush.

There were still good men around.

Well, for starters, Zachary was a good man. Not everybody was like Hank.

Duncan was way better than Hank. Even though Duncan was in a wheelchair, Duncan was a much

better man than her ex-husband could ever be.

Liberty had been giving thought to Grandma May’s advice.

Maybe she would put her faith in love once again and give marriage another go.

Perhaps she would find success in marriage this time.

“I’m not sleepy or tired. I’m happy. I don’t need rest. Even if I’m inside, my heart is out here.”

Duncan said with a smile, “I’ll wait right here with you.”

He loved to see Liberty’s success as she opened one new restaurant after another and built her food

and beverage empire bit by bit.

She was a woman with ambition and she would not stop at just that.

Duncan wanted to be there for all her achievements and milestones. Once he regained his ability to

walk, he would propose to her in public. If that failed, Duncan would propose again and again. He was

willing to do it even if it took a hundred times.

His heart was set on Liberty for the rest of his life.

Liberty and Duncan exchanged glances and smiled.

Soon, Zachary and his wife arrived at the scene.

It was a good thing they ordered the flowers in advance. The florist had delivered the flower basket.

“Congrats, Liberty.”

Serenity got out of the car and gleefully approached her sister. She then whipped out greeting cards in

thick envelopes that were clearly filled with cash.

“I wish you a booming business for your new restaurant, Liberty.”

“Liberty, these cards are from my in-laws. Everybody hopes your new restaurant will be a success.novelbin

Nana and the others will be over for lunch in a minute.”

The Yorks had a guest in the manor, so they could not ditch the guest so soon to go to Liberty’s

restaurant opening.

Liberty thanked Serenity with a grin, not refusing the cards from Serenity.

Serenity and the older York family members would have a word with her if she did not accept their kind

gesture.

“I wish you great success, Liberty.”

Zachary drew close and shared a few congratulatory words.

He then pulled out a thick greeting card to hand to Liberty.

Liberty said, “Seren gave me one already.”

“That’s from Seren and this is from me. Don’t play favorites by accepting Seren’s and not mine.

Otherwise, I’ll take it that you don’t see me as part of the family.”

Liberty uttered with a smile, “Well, that leaves me no choice but to accept. You are all too kind.”

The restaurant opening was an excuse for the couple to give her money.
