Chapter 2231

Lilian said with a smile, “Don’t worry. It’s not untreatable. Since it’s coming from me, you know I don’t

joke around.”

She patted the back of Camryn’s hand. “Take it easy. The treatment will be no more than three months.

If you can’t see clearly after three months, I’ll get my mentor to treat you, but my mentor can’t beat me

when it comes to getting an antidote for poisons.

Lilian had a vast knowledge of poisonous plants from growing them, far surpassing that of her mentor.

That was how she earned her reputation in the medical and poison field.

Heck, she would be called a miracle healer in ancient times.

Everybody was overjoyed by the news.

They knew there was hope for Camryn to see again with Dr. Carden working on her case.

“Thank you, Dr. Carden.”

Feeling relieved, Camryn took Lilian’s hands and thanked her profusely.

Lilian uttered with a grin, “Don’t mention it. You should thank your Aunt Evelyn, her husband, and your

fiancé. You are where you are today because of their perseverance and determination.”

“Aunt Evelyn is like a mother to me. I’d have lost my life if she didn’t visit in time.”

The tragedy and the suffering in the darkness she had endured for the past decade drew tears in

Camryn’s eyes.

She owed her life to Evelyn.

Camryn would not have been able to survive to this day if it were not for Evelyn.

Her mother, Paige, probably knew she was investigating her father’s death, so Paige tried to silence

her by poisoning her, hoping the poisoning would look like a natural death. Camryn had lost her father

and both her grandparents. Her two older aunts were on her stepfather’s side.

She was invisible in the Newman family.

Camryn’s family members, aside from Evelyn, would not weep for her death if the poison took her; she

was a nobody in her family.

It must not have been her time to die yet as Evelyn returned to the family home for a visit.novelbin

Evelyn mentioned that she dreamed about her for several nights before the visit home. Worried that

something might happen to Camryn, Evelyn hurried back to the family home.

Something did happen to Camryn.

Evelyn rushed Camryn to the hospital for treatment. While Camryn survived the illness, she lost her

sight.

The poison could not be flushed out of her system completely.

“Aunt Evelyn.”

Camryn cried out to her aunt with a whimper.

Evelyn hurried over.

With her fingers touching Evelyn, Camryn rose to her feet and plunged headfirst into her aunt’s

embrace.

“Aunt Evelyn, it must have been tough for you all these years.”

Evelyn was already in tears. News that her niece could see again first thrilled her, but she broke down

after hearing what Dr. Carden said.

She had been seeking medical help everywhere for years, often ignoring her own family. Evelyn was

lucky her husband and children stood firmly by her side and never once complained about it to her.

Her husband said Camryn lost her father at a young age, and she was better off without a mother since

Paige beat, yelled, and tortured Camryn despite the blood ties. Evelyn and her family were not in the

position to stick up for and intervene in Camryn’s family affairs.

All they could do was provide Camryn with more love.

“That’s nothing. Everything I have done is worth it so long as you can see again. I can only face your

father… when you get better.”

Camryn was someone her brother, Abel, was most worried about when he died.

His daughter was only two years old at the time and did not know anything better.
