Chapter 2222

Mrs. Lane placed the sour prune aside and said with a grin, “You can’t let Mr. York know of this, Mrs.

York. Otherwise, he’ll deduct my bonus.

“I prepared two desserts for you too. It’s not much, just two small pieces to satisfy your cravings.”

Serenity watched as Mrs. Lane took one delicious dish after another out of the insulated lunch boxes

and placed them on the office table. Then, she looked toward the desserts. She could finish those two

small pieces of cake in a bite.

She said, “The cakes are tiny, Mrs. Lane. There’s only one sour prune too. It’ll only worsen my

cravings, not satisfy them. It’s too little.”novelbin

Grandma May said, “Zack gave Mrs. Lane a special reminder because he was scared you would vomit.

He also stressed that I shouldn’t spoil you by letting you eat sour or sweet food. He told me that you

even vomited bile this morning.

“You should be content that Mrs. Lane even brought you one sour prune.”

Serenity said, “Okay. I’m content. One it is. It’s better than none.

“Have you and Mrs. Lane eaten, Nana? Let’s have lunch together. I can’t finish so much food alone.”

“We brought more food to enjoy with you because we haven’t eaten. Food tastes better with some

company.”

Grandma May asked Mrs. Lane to have lunch with them.

Since Zachary was not around, Mrs. Lane was more relaxed and did not reject the invitation.

The three of them thoroughly enjoyed the food in Serenity’s office.

Although Serenity had morning sickness, which meant she would vomit after eating, she still had a

good appetite and could eat a lot.

Her office was filled with all sorts of snacks too. Zachary had prepared them for her.

He heard from Josh that pregnant women were ravenous. They would crave food frequently. Like

Jasmine, Serenity loved food. After getting pregnant, her love for food only increased. Therefore,

Zachary had prepared many snacks that were safe for pregnant women to consume.

“Seren.”

Liberty knocked on the office door and called her sister.

The door was not closed.

The cubicles outside the office were all empty. Everyone had gotten off work.

The security guard had opened the door for Liberty right away when he recognized that she was CEO

Hunt’s elder sister.

Liberty had seen a car parked outside and found it familiar but she could not remember whose car it

was. As her sister’s car was still parked outside, she knew her sister had not left. Therefore, she

quickly headed inside with her lunch boxes.

She was surprised to see the three of them gobbling up their food right after entering the office.

“Liberty.”

“Come, Liberty. Good timing. We’re having lunch. Join us.”

Grandma May was happy to see Liberty and invited her to take a seat with a grin.

Liberty smiled and said, “I didn’t want Seren going out in the hot weather, so I brought some food for

her. I had just learned how to make these dishes and had gotten slightly better at cooking them, so I

took the opportunity and brought some for Seren to taste test. You can help me to try out the food as

well, Grandma May.”

As she spoke, she opened the lunch boxes and took out the food and soup.

She had only brought two lunch boxes, but they were more than enough.

Serenity’s desk was filled with tasty dishes and she could enjoy good quality food without even

stepping out the door.

Serenity was elated.

She thought she had already been fortunate enough, but she felt like she was soaked in a honey pot at

that moment.

Jasmine had said that being doted on by family was a sweet and happy burden.

A three-person meal soon became livelier with the addition of another person.
