Josh said, “The security guards have memorized the car you and Serenity usually use. They informed
me after seeing that you’ve arrived but didn’t enter the company.
“I thought I had done something wrong because you didn’t visit me inside despite coming over. I was so
scared that I ditched my work. I even rolled and crawled to run out of there.”
Jasmine burst into laughter. Even the bodyguards could not hold their laughter in. However, they dared
not laugh out loud like their missus. They simply turned their heads and stifled their chuckles.
“You make me sound evil. Did you roll and crawl? I saw you running but not rolling or crawling. Since
you said so, do you want to get down and perform how you rolled and crawled just now?”
Josh said, “Since my wife wishes to see me rolling and crawling, I shall get out of the car and show
you.”
As he spoke, he was ready to exit the car.
Jasmine pulled him back and complained, “Are you really doing it? I was just teasing you.”
Josh chuckled and said, “I’ve said that your happiness matters the most to me. I’ll do anything you ask
of me.”
Although he said so, he already settled down in the backseat. He sighed. “Having an AC blowing is so
comfortable. Walking out here was a short distance, but the sun was scorching hot.”
“Those working in the construction industry must work regardless of the hot weather.”
“You’re right. Construction teams have it tough during summer. Did you manage to see Serenity at
Zachary’s house?”
Jasmine shook her head. “No. She’s so disloyal. She didn’t even tell me she had returned yesterday. I
only found out because she took a picture of Brynfield’s view this morning and posted it on Facebook
with her location tagged in Brynfield.”
The person who spread the pregnancy news around yesterday was Zachary. The people who dared to
disturb Serenity were only her family and close friends. Everyone did not know she was back and
simply congratulated her through Whatsapp.
Jasmine was more excited about her friend’s pregnancy than her own.
She had been preparing supplements since yesterday evening. She wanted to send them to Serenity’s
house after Serenity returned from FC Manor.
Many people had given Jasmine supplements when she found out she was pregnant.
Most of the supplements given were vitamins. She had been eating them like a staple.
“Zachary and Serenity must’ve been overjoyed. He likely rushed back after discovering his wife is
pregnant. It’s a given that they’d return to the manor first. The York family’s elders are spending their
retirement life there. They would definitely swarm Serenity after hearing the good news. Zachary
might’ve been pushed aside to a corner too.
“Serenity probably didn’t even have the opportunity or time to tell you about it.”
Josh was indeed Zachary’s best bro. He knew Zachary’s personality well.
He had accurately described Zachary’s situation yesterday. Zachary was indeed squeezed aside to a
corner by the elders yesterday.
“I’m not angry.” Jasmine smiled and added, “You don’t have to be so quick to defend your bro.”
“I know you’re not angry. You’ve been friends with Serenity for many years. You even put her before me

“Have you gotten off work?”

“My wife is already here to pick me up from work. Of course I have to leave my place. Anything can
wait until the evening. Let’s go. Are we heading home or to a hotel for lunch?”
Josh ordered one of the bodyguards to start driving.
“Aren’t you going to get your car?”
“I’m not going in anymore. It’s blazing hot outside. Holidays are approaching, but the weather’s still so
hot.”
“It’s Wiltspoon for you. It’s not even cold during winter, let alone fall. We used to find the four seasons
here distinct, but it’s been getting warmer each year,” Jasmine said.
