Chapter 2158

Zachary said anxiously, “Please let Dr. Carden examine Seren now, Mrs. Young-Johnson. I’m dying to

find out.”

The women were still in the mood to have a pleasant chat. They were clueless about how anxious he

was.

Jane smiled at Lilian and said, “Lilian, please conduct a checkup on Seren now and see whether she’s

pregnant. She was vomiting severely just now. I think it’s morning sickness.”

Serenity’s face was red.

Her husband’s panicked expression made her blush from embarrassment.novelbin

The people present in the children’s room were young wives with noble identities.

Everyone stayed silent when Lilian took Serenity’s pulse.

Zachary was a nervous wreck.

Serenity was smiling, but she was nervous too.

She would be sad if they got excited over nothing.

Lilian told Zachary and Serenity a moment later with a smile, “You’re pregnant. If you think my pulse-

taking is inaccurate, you can confirm it at a hospital.”

Upon hearing that, Serenity nodded continuously while grinning. She said, “Thank you, Dr. Carden. I’ll

take a test at the hospital after returning.”

Zachary was nodding vigorously too. He said, “I trust you, Dr. Carden. Seren must be pregnant. Haha,

I’m going to be a father!”

Zachary laughed. Next, he pulled Serenity into his embrace and hugged her tightly, “We’re going to be

parents, Seren!”

Serenity was finally pregnant.

She had been shouldering a lot of pressure over the past year. His heart ached for her.

No matter how he reassured her, she was still extremely stressed.

He could lend her a hand in any other matters.

However, he could not help her when it came to pregnancy.

Luckily, they were finally pregnant with a baby.

Zachary was ecstatic.

Serenity’s eyes gradually reddened even though she was smiling in his embrace.

She might have pretended to look nonchalant before others, but she had been under immense

pressure.

She even overthought whether her marriage with Zachary could continue if she were unable to get

pregnant.

Whenever Zachary consoled her, he used to say they could just be without a child if they could not get

pregnant.

The York family had many children anyway. It was okay even if they did not have one.

He said she was more important to him than a baby. He was fine as long as he had her and would

leave the matter of children up to fate.

However, Serenity thought differently.

She loved Zachary.

She wanted to have a crystallization of their love.

She wished to have a child of their own, be it a son or daughter. She felt their lives and marriage would

only be complete with a baby.

Sometimes, she would think that perhaps she had been too lucky and blessed to have obtained

Zachary’s love and climbed to a high status. Maybe that was the reason getting pregnant was difficult

for her.

Serenity was nearly overwhelmed with her thoughts. She only managed to pull through because of the

words of the psychic Grandma May had hired.

Actually, Serenity did not believe in fortune-telling or anything supernatural.

However, some people tended to believe in such things when they felt lost. They hoped everything

would turn out as the fortune foretold.

The psychic had said that Serenity and Zachary were compatible with each other. Their marriage was a

favored one. Hence, they would be able to be a loving couple, grow old, and have children together.

Serenity finally got pregnant.

The weight hanging from her shoulders was gone, and her tense nerves could finally relax.

However, she could not stop her tears from falling.

When Zachary noticed Serenity was crying, he gently released her and wiped her tears away. He

asked nervously, “Are you feeling unwell, Seren? Did I use too much force just now? Did I hurt you?”

Serenity shook her head. She buried herself in his arms again and choked, “I’m crying because I’m too

happy.”
