It all happened in a blink of an eye.
Mrs. Lafayette had Chloe in her arms already.
Jane’s adoptive mother, Fiona, carried Connor.
The Johnson family’s elders did not even have the chance to move.
Jane whispered into Serenity’s ear, “See? I’ve already fallen out of favor. There’s a saying that
grandparents are closer to their grandchildren than their children. My parents only love the two babies
now. If I didn’t bring them back whenever I visited my family, my mom would ask me why I bothered
returning.”
Serenity understood that feeling.
The same would happen if she did not bring Sonny back to Wildridge Manor. Her in-laws would be
unhappy.
Zachary, who was being entertained by Ben and the other men, could not resist staring at the baby girl
when Mrs. Lafayette returned to the sofas with the baby.
Laurent said, “You can stop looking, Mr. York. You won’t have the chance to carry my niece. Even I, her
uncle, rarely get to hold her.”
However, Suzy had been able to snatch a few chances to hold Chloe. Laurent could only take his niece
from his wife’s arms whenever she managed to hold the baby girl.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that his niece had captured everybody’s love.
Jonathan Murphy bragged, “I think I’m luckier. Jane often brings the babies back home to visit. I can
hug my niece for as long as I like in my home.”
After speaking, he received jealous stares from Laurent.
Jonathan got even more smug.
The parents started talking about babies.
The group of young wives had their own conversation too.
Therefore, Ben had no choice but to invite the CEOs outside to sit in the summer house.
Ben told Zachary, “You should stay for a few more days this time.”
Zachary nodded in agreement. “We intend to do that. Seren likes the children a lot.”
“Is there… still no good news for you two?”
Ben asked in a low voice out of concern, “The miracle healer is on his way. Do you want him to conduct
a checkup on you and Serenity?”
Before Zachary could speak, Laurent said, “Is it weird not to be pregnant after a year of marriage?
Suzy and I are still without a child too. We’re not anxious about it, and no one’s urging us. It feels nice
to just spend quality time with each other.
“Other people’s babies may look cute, but some people might get annoyed after having their own as
babies cry every day.”
Laurent added, “Take Tim for reference.”
Tim and his wife were a great example.
Before Oliver was born, Tim and Lilian had been looking forward to their baby’s birth. However, after
Oliver was born, he liked making a fuss so much that Tim and Lilian would get dizzy from the noise. Ifnovelbin
Oliver were not their biological son, they would have abandoned him.
Tim had spoken the latter sentence in a moment of anger as he was frustrated by his son’s crying.
Therefore, Tim and Lilian hoped the miracle healer could arrive quicker and babysit. That way, they
would be able to escape.

much.
The doctor blamed Tim and Lilian for not knowing how to care for babies.
However, as first-time parents, it was expected that they were inexperienced.
The miracle healer also said Lilian was harder to deal with when she was young. She would also make
a fuss all day and even got sick frequently. He would have thrown her away early if not for her potential.
Lilian had once thought, ‘Did my son inherit my crying habits?’
She could not accept it.
She had flipped through her teacher’s prized album and saw pictures of her as a child. She always
thought she had been an obedient, cute, and clever child.
However, Lilian did not expect herself to be a crybaby.
Jonathan also said, “There’s no need to rush things. You’ve only been married for a year. What’s there
to be hasty for? As Laurent mentioned, you should enjoy quality time with your wife for at least two to
three years, and only try for a baby after that.”
Jonathan regretted having a baby early.
He should have spent more time with Casey before having a child.
