Elisa thought of how she was her mother’s only daughter. If her mother reclaimed the position of thenovelbin

She was not that capable.
Before her mother did something big, Elisa gave Audrey a heads-up in advance. “Mom, if you really
want to take back the position of the Fisher family head, don’t even think about making me your
successor. You know very well what kind of daughter you have. I can’t afford to lead a family.
“Go find Serenity instead. Give her a few years and she’ll be able to do it.”
Elisa dragged her good friend out as a shield and thought, ‘Better her than me.’
Audrey glared at her daughter and said, “Serenity is very busy and is under a lot of pressure now. She

the burden of the Fisher family as well?”
