Chapter 2093

“I’ll let you know when I feel uncomfortable, Sonny. I won’t be hesitant to tell you.”

After explaining, Duncan told Chelsea, “I’m fine, Chelsea. Sonny’s a child, but he’s very sensible. He

would never sit on my lap when my legs were in pain. I’ve long been discharged from the hospital and

have done rehabilitation for some time. I’m still able to hold Sonny.

“Don’t scare him, Chelsea.”

The Brown family did that to prevent Sonny from getting close to Duncan.

However, he had spent lots of time with Sonny. It was not something that the Brown family could stop

from happening as they wished.

Chelsea said, “Don’t dote on Sonny so much, Mr. Lewis. You’ll spoil him rotten.”

“Don’t worry. He won’t be spoiled rotten as his mom is strict with him. He knows what he can and can’t

do. I like Sonny. He’s sensible and clever. Even with so many people adoring him, he never became

unreasonable.”

The Brown family did not feel good when they heard Duncan praising Sonny. However, they could not

say a thing because they knew Sonny was indeed a good child.

Hank, who was lying on the bed, glanced at Liberty. Then, he shifted his gaze away and smiled at

Duncan. He said, “This is all thanks to Liberty. She taught Sonny well.”

“It’s also due to our family’s good genes. Sonny inherited those good genes from the Brown family.”

Chelsea brazenly said her family’s genes were superior.

“How’s your business lately, Liberty?”

Hank changed the topic.

“The breakfast diner’s business is doing the same as before. I can’t get rich from it, but it’s better than

working under someone else. The new store hasn’t opened yet. It’ll be ready for opening soon.”

Liberty did not hide anything from them. They all lived in Wiltspoon and would surely cross paths

regularly. Even if she did not tell them, they would have ways to find out.

“Will you be hiring after your new store opens? Can you hire me? I’m unemployed now, and there’s not

much income from the store Lucas’s dad runs. Business is difficult. I’m thinking of going to work if I can

find a job.

“I used to be a manager in my workplace. If you assign me as the supervisor, I can definitely do well.

You can decide my salary. I don’t dare to ask for a high salary since I’m getting older. I’m content as

long as I get eight thousand to ten thousand dollars a month with food and accommodation provided.”

Liberty’s expression remained unchanged. She said, “The new store hasn’t opened yet. I’m unsure

whether I need employees, but I think I won’t be able to hire you, Chelsea. Besides, I won’t be offering

high salaries.”novelbin

Even if Chelsea had been grateful to Liberty and Serenity, Liberty would not hire her ex-sister-in-law to

work at her restaurant.

She could not trust someone like Chelsea.

Besides, Chelsea was the most enthusiastic person in the Brown family about getting Hank to pursue

Liberty again. Liberty knew what she was planning.

She no longer wanted the Brown family to take advantage of her money again. She would not allow

them to access her sister’s money through her too.

Liberty was not strong enough to be her sister’s backing yet. Therefore, she was trying her best not to

be her burden. She would try to think of a way to solve problems herself. If Serenity came to know

about the situation, only then would Liberty discuss the matter with her.

“How much can you give? I can accept seven or eight thousand dollars too.”

Liberty smiled and said, “It’s a small store. I don’t even know how the business will turn out. The salary

will be almost the same as those offered by other restaurants in Wiltspoon. It might be the minimum

wage in Wiltspoon. I’ll increase it based on how well the business is doing and the employee’s

performance.

“I don’t need a supervisor either. I’ll be doing most of the things myself at the start. It saves cost.

“I don’t think you’ll be able to work as a waitress either, Chelsea. After all, you’re a boss’s wife now.”

Upon hearing about the low salary and that she had to work as a waitress, Chelsea lost interest in the

job.

After giving it some thought, she said, “You can let me manage the breakfast diner for you, Liberty. We

used to be family anyway. Won’t you be more at ease letting me manage the diner than someone

else?”
