Chapter 1917

Hayden did not say a word.

She walked to her car.

Hugh gestured to the secretary not to follow them anymore and followed his sister to the car.

Soon, Hayden got into the car. Hugh squeezed into his sister’s luxury car as well. The driver watched

Hugh and silently started the car engine.

“Bro, I asked Kevin just now, and he admitted that he’s using you to escape his parents’ nagging about

marriage.”

Hayden watched her brother coldly. “Do you believe him?”

Hugh choked briefly and said, “Based on my investigation and the information we obtained, I do. If I

don’t, could he possibly be gay? Even if he is, he won’t publicly pursue you after only meeting you

several times.”

It was Hayden’s turn to be speechless.

She did not believe Kevin was only using her to create a scandal and that he was actually gay. If he

liked men, Wiltspoon was filled with young talented men. He already had someone he liked. Why did

he have to come to Jensburg to bug her?

What was Kevin’s motive if it were not for those two reasons?

Hayden’s car departed from their office building.

The onlookers gradually dispersed too.

However, Kevin still had not left. He was leaning against his car with his hands in his pockets as he

watched Hayden’s car drive away. He even waved his hand at her, who was inside the car. He seemed

to have said something, but Hayden did not move her gaze and was expressionless. She could not

hear what he said.

The driver knew Mr. Hayden hated Mr. Kevin. The car was fast and soon left Kevin behind.

After some time, Hayden instructed, “Hugh, go to Wiltspoon and find out who exactly is Kevin’s

fiancée.”

Hugh’s eyes shone. He looked toward his sister.

Hayden’s lips were pressed tight.

“Bro, you’re overthinking. That’s impossible.”

After figuring out his sister’s thoughts, Hugh smiled and reassured her. “How is that possible? You

rarely go to Wiltspoon. We’ve only been there to attend Mr. Bucham’s wedding as a family.

“Did you forget? Old Mrs. York had given Kevin the picture at the start of the year. When was your first

meeting with her?”

Hayden recalled the time she first met Grandma May. It did not match the time when Kevin received

the picture from his nana.

Was she overthinking this?

She thought it was impossible too.

Hayden had been dressing as a man for over twenty years, not one or two. She had been disguising

herself since she was young, but not many people knew about it. She had only met Grandma May a

handful of times. Even if the old lady had sharp eyes, she could not have seen through her disguise

after only meeting her several times.

However, Hayden still felt something was off.

Was Kevin really using her just as her brother said?

“If he needed to create such a scandal, he didn’t have to travel all the way to Jensburg or choose me,

neither am I close to him. Even if he does this, his parents won’t believe him.”

“Okay. I’ll ask around for you, but it might not be successful. Old Mrs. York gave the picture to Kevin,

but he didn’t reveal it. The public doesn’t know who his fiancée is.”novelbin
