Chapter 1882

A good husband knew his wife best.

Every time she saw the children playing around, she would think about them not having babies yet.

Serenity leaned her head on Zachary’s shoulder and responded with a grunt of agreement.

The two children got tired of playing and ran over to them.

Laurence ran too fast and tripped on a stone, falling down.

Sonny hurried to help him up.

Zachary and Serenity stood up quickly and walked over. Serenity was the one who picked him up as

Sonny was still young and could not lift up the chubby Laurence.

Laurence pouted his mouth and was on the verge of crying. He was held by Serenity, who asked him in

a gentle and caring tone if he was hurt and where it hurt.

Aunt Ser was so gentle, just like Mommy Jane, giving him a maternal feeling. Tears swirled in

Laurence’s eyes, but he still shook his head and said he was not in pain.

Serenity helped him pat off the dust on his clothes. She then took out a tissue and gently wiped away

his tears after seeing them welling in his eyes. Serenity asked with concern, “Did you hurt your back?

Or your head?”

Laurence fell backward.

Serenity pressed him against her lap, making it easier for her to check Laurence’s back. She was

stunned when she lifted Laurence’s shirt and saw the incomprehensible patterns on his back.

Zachary froze for a moment.

As the head of the York Corporation, he was calm and quick to react. After a quick scan of Laurence’s

back to confirm that there were no injuries, he immediately pulled down the little boy’s shirt to cover up

the patterns on his back.

“Uncle Zack, Laurence’s back…”

“It's nothing, Sonny. Pretend you didn’t see anything and don't tell anyone, okay?”

For the first time, Zachary sternly asked Sonny.

Sonny, who saw the seriousness of Uncle Zack’s expression, nodded blindly in agreement. “Uncle

Zack, I won't say anything.”

Serenity wanted to ask a few questions but was soon dissuaded by Zachary’s stern demeanor toward

Sonny.

After checking the back of Laurence’s head, she found no wounds. Maybe it only hurt when he hit the

ground.

Serenity sat Laurence on her lap, and asked him softly, “Where does it hurt, Laurence?”

“It doesn’t hurt anymore, Aunt Ser.”

Laurence nestled in Serenity’s arms and grabbed onto her shirt with his pudgy hands. He said with a

cutesy voice, “Aunt Ser, I like being in your arms, it’s like being hugged by Mommy Jane. I like Mommy

Jane the most, and I also like you too, Aunt Ser.”

Aunt Ser also had a motherly aura.

Laurence was only one year old when he was adopted by Jane. Back then, he could not even walk

properly, he only knew how to utter the word “Mama”.

As of now, he was still barely three years old. Although he was trained into a prodigy under the tutelage

of a legendary doctor, he was still a child through and through.

He loved people with motherly traits.

The kid once asked his mentor that if Jane was his mother, why should he call her “Mommy Jane”

instead of just “Mommy”? If everyone else had a mother, where was his?

Laurence was a bright kid, no wonder Dr. Carden took him in as a student and wanted to impart her

knowledge to him.

When the adults told him to call Jane differently, he knew he was not like his siblings.

Dr. Carden told him honestly that Jane was not his biological mother.

She also told him that no one had a clue about who his biological mother was. When the time came,

his heritage was his alone to figure out.

Serenity’s heart had melted.

She had always taken a liking to kids.

Sonny was raised by her.novelbin

She replied with a smile, “I like you too, Laurence.”
