Chapter 1835

The night crept away while the day arrived. It was the start of another day.

Zachary woke up. Before he opened his eyes, he turned to his side on instinct and stretched his long

arms. His eyes snapped open when he did not manage to hug a soft body. His side was empty, and

Serenity was nowhere to be seen.

After being taken aback for a while, Zachary remembered that his nana had kidnapped his beloved

wife. They had taken Sonny on a trip and abandoned him at home. He was not able to sleep the entire

night because of it. He barely went to sleep by hugging Serenity’s pillow and treating it as her.

Zachary took his phone and looked at the time. It was already past eight o’clock.

In the past, he would always wake up around six for a morning run.

Ah, even waking up felt so tiring without his wife by his side.

Next, Zachary looked at the date. It was a Saturday.

He had been so busy that he had forgotten the date. He felt like it was only Monday, but it was already

Saturday. The week went by so quickly.

Since Zachary did not have to work on a Saturday, he wanted to continue sleeping because only in his

dreams had Seren and him together.

However, his growling empty stomach made him unable to sleep.

He had no choice but to get up.

There were no missed calls but many unread messages on his phone. He tapped the messages open.

Besides messages from work group chats, the rest were other people asking him out on the weekend

to have fun. There were no messages from Serenity even after he scrolled through all of the messages.

“Serenity Hunt!”

Zachary gritted his teeth. He had not called her by her full name for a long time.

“You’re so cruel. You didn’t even send a message to me.”

As he could not see any messages from Serenity, he visited her Facebook profile. He remembered that

she also changed her phone when he saw no new status on her profile. Even Liberty did not know her

new number.

Mr. Zachary York, who had been “abandoned” by his wife at home, changed his clothes, brushed his

teeth, and washed up. After that, he went downstairs with his handsome face.

When he reached the first floor, a fat dog ran toward him with its chubby body.

Zachary disliked furry animals the most. He only asked his friend to buy a pet dog and two cats for him

to make Serenity happy back then. Serenity was in charge of taking care of the pets, but Mrs. Lane

ended up looking after them because Zachary and Serenity were too busy.

When he saw the chubby dog was about to jump on him, he instinctively raised his leg to kick it.

“Mr. Zachary, that’s the missus’s pet dog!” Mrs. Lane exclaimed.

Zachary’s leg almost came into contact with the dog. He pulled back when he heard Mrs. Lane’s shout.

He put down his leg and forgave the chubby dog.

Mrs. Lane walked over quickly and held the dog’s leash. “You ran in just when I went to the bathroom.”

She wanted to lead the dog out, but it was not willing to go out. It kept snuggling up to Zachary’s feet.

Zachary said unhappily, “Is this the dog I gave Serenity?”

“Yes. You gave Snowball to Missus.”

Zachary stared at the chubby dog. It grew a lot horizontally compared to when he had just bought it. He

frowned. “It’s so fat that it doesn’t look like a dog but a pig. Don’t let it eat so much, Mrs. Lane.”

Mrs. Lane said, “Snowball has a big appetite. If I don’t feed it, it’ll look for food by itself. The dog also

lacks exercise, so it becomes fatter. I told Missus that we have to help it to lose weight.”

“It’s as gluttonous as its owner,” Zachary muttered. His wife did not like food much but had a good

appetite and would not grow fat. Unlike her, her pet dog was as fat as a pig and had completely lost thenovelbin

look of a dog.

“Take it out. It’s furry. I get goosebumps just by looking at it.”

Mrs. Lane pulled the dog out again, but it was not willing. It kept clinging to Zachary’s feet. In the end,

Mrs. Lane had no choice but to carry the chubby dog and bring it out.

She reprimanded the dog, “Mr. Zachary doesn’t like you showing up around him, yet you even clung to

his feet. Are you trying to get your fur removed and yourself slaughtered?”

Snowball whined.
