Chapter 1782

Chapter 1782

“It'll be fine.”

Zachary encouraged Duncan. “You're a strong and confident person. Believe in yourself, Duncan. Asnovelbin

long as you keep up with your rehabilitation, you will definitely recover. The doctor said your chances of

recovery are high.”

Duncan remained silent. The doctor said that there were chances of recovery, but he did not mention

the certainty of Duncan’s full recovery.

“Hang in there, Dunc!”

Sonny could understand the ongoing conversation well. He waved abruptly at Duncan to cheer him up.

Duncan patted Sonny’s head affectionately.

Zachary said, “Liberty took over a restaurant and it’s currently being renovated. It’ll be back to normal

soon as it is a simple renovation. Look how hard she’s working. You better not give up so easily.”

“Is All You Can Eat closing?”

Liberty had never talked about her business with Duncan before, nor had he ever asked.

He thought it was impossible for him and Liberty to be together unless he could fully recover.

Otherwise, he would never pursue Liberty again.

If only Liberty could meet someone better...

The thought of Liberty marrying another man made Duncan feel a stabbing pain in his heart. His legs

ached even more.

“All You Can Eat is still in business, she only changed the business model. She made it possible for her

two employees to be shareholders, which enabled them to earn dividends. Then, she left the operation

of the diner in the hands of the two shareholders. She signed an official contract and now owns 80% of

the company shares. Additionally, she hired two more workers to help out in the diner. Nowadays, she

only needs to do some auditing, giving her ample time to manage her new restaurant.”

Liberty invested more in her new restaurant. She invested her personal savings and her earnings from

All You Can Eat in her new restaurant.

Duncan murmured and stopped talking. He knew that Liberty was working hard for money. However, all

that hard work was not dedicated to him. She just wanted Sonny to live a better life.

Of course, Duncan wished the best for Liberty’s business. Her goal was to leave her mark in the food

and beverage field, opening countless chain stores for All You Can Eat.

Zachary picked Sonny up, then put him down and said, “Go help your mom, Sonny. I’m going to talk

with Dunc.”

“Okay,” Sonny responded obediently.

Zachary stood up and pushed Duncan out of the room.

As he was pushing Duncan down the hallway, he asked, “Duncan, why did you opt to discharge from

the hospital so suddenly? Is it somehow related to Hank’s accident?”

After a brief pause, Duncan admitted, “Hank is also hospitalized currently. As you know, Hank is

Sonny’s biological father. I can’t let Liberty visit that b*stard too often.”

Now that Duncan had been discharged, Liberty would have to take care of him in his home. Thus,

leaving her with less time to visit her ex-husband.

Zachary knew something was off when his good friend was discharged so suddenly.

He could not help but speak up for his sister-in-law, saying, “You said it yourself, Hank is Sonny’s

biological father. Even if she were to visit him, it would be for Sonny’s sake. Plus, she wouldn’t go visit

him as often as you think she would, you’re worrying too much. Clearly, you care for her, but why do

you always act as if you’re annoyed with her?”

“We've been friends for so long now, Zachary. Why don’t you understand me? Look at this sorry state

I’m in. How am I supposed to give Liberty a happy life? Instead, I've become a burden to her. She had

lost a considerable amount of weight taking care of me.” Besides, Liberty did not fall in love with him up

until now.

She only took care of him for a few reasons. The first reason was that Duncan’s mother begged her to

do so. Second, she was doing it for money. She had just taken over a new restaurant, needing money

to keep her business running. With regard to this, Duncan never suspected that Liberty was doing it for

money.

Another reason was, Liberty thought she owed Duncan some favors, as he was a tremendous help to

her in the past.
