Chapter 1706

Chapter 1706

“I'll make stew. I can bring Mr. Lewis some when I head to the hospital in a bit.”

Liberty turned around and got the ingredients out of the bags for prepping to make the stew.

“I should respond to Mrs. Lewis.” Having recalled that she would give Mrs. Lewis a reply, Liberty

paused in motion and whipped out her phone to call Mrs. Lewis.

She let Mrs. Lewis know of her decision.

Mrs. Lewis was grateful and insisted on giving Liberty some sort of payment.

It was not like Mrs. Lewis could do anything if Liberty refused to take payment.

With that in mind, Liberty went on to make lunch.

The food was ready when it was close to lunch break.

“Seren, I’m delivering some stew to Mr. Lewis.

Sonny will stay here with you.” Liberty carried a food container out of the kitchen.

“Lunch is ready and in the pot.

Help yourselves when you and Jasmine are done with work.” “Have you eaten, Liberty?” Serenity

asked with concern.

It had not been busy at the bookshop lately.

However, with the term break around the corner, the students needed to pick up some resources for

their term- break project, so business picked up a little.

“T ate a little,” Liberty answered as she made her way out.

“Mom, I want to go too.” Seeing that Mom was leaving, Sonny cried out and caught up to her.

“Sonny, you haven’t had lunch.novelbin

You can’t go yet.

I will take you after your lunch.” Serenity came out and picked Sonny up from leaving.

Sonny felt sad.

Nevertheless, his frown was soon turned upside down after his aunt cheered him up.

In the hospital, Duncan was still not in the mood to eat.

Emmett’s wife, Charmaine, delivered food to him, but Duncan knocked and spilled the food all over.

Startled by her brother-in-law’s violence, Charmaine took a few steps back and managed to dodge the

food spill.

“Duncan.” Charmaine cried, “You don’t have to eat if you don’t want to.

Why did you have to knock the food over? Your parents haven’t even had lunch.” Her brother-in-law’s

temper was growing worse by the day.

Still, she understood his frustration.

While Charmaine felt sorry for Duncan, those were also Corey and Derek’s lunch that he knocked over.

“Did you see what your parents have become since your accident? Corey and Derek took care of you

all day and all night.

They look haggard with heavy eyebags and grizzled hair.

You only dwell in your sadness.

Can’t you see everybody is worried about you? “You will never get better if you carry on like this.

You’re only upsetting all those who care about you.” Charmaine was ten years older than Duncan.

Duncan was in high school when she married into the Lewis family.

Charmaine had always had a soft spot for her brother-in-law while Duncan showed Charmaine utmost

respect.

Others might hold back on the criticism in light of Duncan’s circumstances, but Charmaine was not one

of them.
