Chapter 223 The Two Goddesses Of Channing

Penny's expression stiffened slightly when she heard the name.
Six years ago, both she and Sylvie Larson were chosen as the Top Ten Outstanding Youth of
Channing.
As they were both stunning women, the media reported about them and they were labeled as the Two
Goddesses of Channing.
But the two had vastly different personalities. Once, Sylvie Larson was caught by the paparazzi when
she went to a hotel with a married man. The news splashed across the front page of tabloids.
That caused Sylvie's' image to shatter immediately. Everyone from Channing soon knew that she was
nothing but a socialite who enjoyed the company of men.
Sylvie was secretly convinced that Penny was the one who had the paparazzi tail her and leak the
news. Since then, she has held a massive grudge towards Penny.
Hence, Sylvie had been making her rounds in the upper class social circles and bad-mouthing Penny
and her status as a single mother. She spread rumors that Penny liked to sleep around and that her
daughter was born out of wedlock. She didn't even know who the father of her child was!
Penny did not expect that the person whom she never wanted to see would turn up at her birthday
party.
She turned to the person next to her. "Who invited Sylvie Larson?"
Sean grinned. "I did! We Grande Group have been interested in working with Ms. Larson and her Hay
Corp.”
"But Ms. Larson feels that we aren't up to her standard, so she hasn't agreed to working with us yet."
"So I thought your birthday would be a great opportunity to have Ms. Larson over for a few drinks, and
then we could discuss more about starting a
partnership.”
That's when Penny, Nathan, Benson, Leah, and even Kylie came to realize the ulterior motive behind
this party.
Sean had another agenda for throwing Penny a birthday party.
He wanted to work with Sylvie Larson, but she hadn't been impressed with the Smiths' capabilities.novelbin
And so Sean decided to use Penny to gain Sylvie's approval.

Sean was completely oblivious to how Penny was feeling and led his family to the front porch to
welcome Ms. Larson.
Soon after, a beautiful lady wearing a dress with a plunging neckline was ushered in by the crowd.
This beautiful lady was none other than Sylvie Larson. She was decked out from top to bottom in
famous labels, and a dazzling pink diamond necklace was nestled around her neck.
The diamond necklace looked at least nine carats and its design was exactly the same with that of
Penny's.
As the saying went, all those who came through the door were guests.
So Penny and Nathan went up to her and greeted her cordially. "Ms. Larson, welcome."
Sylvie sniggered. "Look at how she welcomes her guests. Doesn't it remind you of those girls who
greet the door at nightclubs?"
The expressions of those around them turned awkward.
Only Sylvie's entourage, as well as Sean, Samuel, and Paul, looked apologetically.
Penny and Nathan stiffened at the comment, but it was Queenie who lost her temper and blurted,
"You're more evil than the Evil Queen! You're not allowed to say bad things about my Mama!"
"Little lady, I was only joking around with your mother," smirked Sylvie.
She turned to look at Penny. "Penny, I'm sure you don't mind my joke, right?"
As she was looking at her, she suddenly noticed that Penny was wearing the same pink diamond
necklace as her.
She suddenly felt anxious.They told me 'Evermore' had been taken by the new boss of Perpetual Love.
How on earth can she be wearing it?
Penny too had noticed the necklace on her neck was the same as the one on Sylvie's.
She believed hers to be fake, so she assumed Sylvie's had to be the genuine necklace.
Penny instinctively raised her hand to cover the necklace feeling a little flustered.
"It's fine. I didn't take it to heart."
Sylvie noticed Penny's odd behavior. It confused her at first, then she became ecstatic when she
realized that Penny's 'Evermore' was a knock off as well.
She regained her confidence and again gave Penny a sneer. "Oh hey, look at that. You have an
'Evermore' too, Penny!"
"Even if you couldn't afford it, you shouldn't have just gotten a knock off. And here you're wearing the
fake while I'm wearing the genuine one. I'm just so embarrassed for you!"
