Chapter 222 Nathan Spent Tens Of Thousands

When Penny opened the box, they all gasped when they saw the dazzling pink diamond necklace. "It's

gorgeous!"

Penny admired the exquisite necklace then looked at Nathan warily. "Nathan, I hope this pink diamond

necklace is genuine. How much did it cost you?”novelbin

Both Benson and Leah also turned their eyes to Nathan. They too felt that it wasn't a good idea for him

to spend too much on jewelry. It would still be acceptable if he spent slightly over ten thousand but

anything higher than that would be overbearing.

Nathan chuckled. "The diamond is an imitation. It's not real so it's not worth anything. You can ask Kylie

if you don't believe me. She went with me to buy it."

Kylie quickly affirmed Nathan's claims. "That's right! It's only an imitation. But it's not that cheap either.

It still cost Nathan tens of thousands though."

Penny gladly accepted the necklace when she heard that it was only an inexpensive imitation. In fact,

the more she looked at it the more she liked it.

She blushed slightly and said, "I don't care if it's real or fake. I love it as long as it's from Nathan."

Benson and Leah looked at each other and there were hints of mirth in their eyes.

They could see that their daughter and Nathan were becoming closer by the day.

Leah was curious. "If this necklace were real, how much would it actually cost?"

Penny couldn't stop admiring her gift, so she answered absent-mindedly. "I'm not sure. Probably over a

hundred million."

"But I would be reluctant to accept it if Nathan actually spent that much on jewelry for me. I prefer

something like this which is gorgeous and affordable."

Benson and Leah both inhaled sharply.

"Over a hundred million? That's absurd! No one can afford that!"

Kylie, who knew the truth and found it very difficult to hold it in. She was doing all she can to not blurt

out that the necklace in Penny's hand was indeed worth over a hundred million.

Penny put the necklace back in the box and turned to Nathan. "Oh I nearly forgot. Grandpa called

earlier."

"They're usually up to no good. What do they want now?" asked Nathan warily.

Benson smiled. "It's actually something good this time. Father remembers it's Penn's birthday tomorrow

so he has decided to host a birthday dinner at the mansion and invite all our friends and family over to

celebrate her birthday."

Benson's family had always been looked down upon by the rest of Smiths.

This was the first time Sean had offered to host such a big bash for Penny's birthday. And it would be

her first time to enjoy the perks of being a child of the wealthy Smith family.

Benson and Penny were both people who really treasured the family so the two of them were

absolutely delighted when they heard the news.

However, Leah felt that Sean and his family were like a fox in the chicken coop, and was probably up to

no good.

But since her husband and daughter were both enjoying the idea, she chose to not say anything and

just let them be.

Nathan didn't really mind at all. The only thing important to him was for Penny to be happy.

The next day, at the Smith mansion, Sean Smith hosted an extravagant feast. He invited all the Smith

family's friends and relatives over to celebrate Penny's birthday.

Penny was the star of the night.

After some coaxing from Kylie, Penny put on an evening dress by Chanel, and paired it with an

exquisite-looking pair of high heels. Then put on 'Evermore,' the necklace from Nathan as a finishing

touch.

Penny looked like a princess from a fairy tale, with a beauty and elegance that no one could hold a

candle to.

Benson and Leah also made the effort to dress to the nines. Leah even wore the ruby necklace that

Benson gave her for her birthday.

The family headed over to the Smith mansion in high spirits.

When they arrived, Sean, Samuel, Paul, and their families all came out to welcome them. They greeted

each other warmly, looking like a happy family.

The guests slowly began to arrive.

Nathan accompanied Penny and the Smiths to entertain the guests.

Suddenly, May ran over from the entrance and announced excitedly, "She's here! The CEO of Hay

Corp, Ms. Sylvie Larson of the Larsons is finally here!"
