Chapter 1675

President Windsor ordered Nathan to be locked in the Black Shack.

But Will could not bear to lock Nathan in the filthy Black Shack. Instead, he chose to take Nathan to a cramped and dark room.In the room, there was a desk and a small coffee table with a pot of coffee on it.

Will spoke courteously to Nathan, “General, please take a break here. The president should let you out soon.”

Nathan chortled, "It doesn't matter whether he releases me sooner or later. I have caused quite a lot of trouble lately. I certainly ought to reflect on myactions. “

After Will had Nathan settled in the room, he excused himself. He ordered the soldiers on duty not to let anything go amiss. Then. he left thepremises.

Nathan spent the next three days in the Black Shack.

President Windsor did not come to meet Nathan, nor did he order for his early release. Even Kylie and the others were turned away when theyrequested to visit him

Very soon, rumors began to spread among the people. Some claimed that the president might have been displeased with one of Nathan's previousmissions, and so had decided to keep a distance from him.

In fact, other people were of the opinion that Nathan was heading towards a precarious future. On the third day, Will released Nathan from the Black Shack.

Nathan went straight to the Guardian Special Forces military base, where Will was stationed at. for a shower and a change of clothes, before headingto the Royal Palace to report to President Windsor.

He spent a few more hours waiting in the Royal Palace, and it was only after noon that he was invited to meet the President in the royal study. There, Hansel was on his chair reading the newspaper while the First Lady was making tea for herself.

“Good day, sir. Good day, madam.”

Nathan greeted the two with respect. In private, he would always address Hansel as sir, and Camilla as madam or Aunt Camilla.

Camilla smiled at him. “Nathan's here.”

Hansel looked away from the newspaper. He cast a glance at Nathan, and then went back to his reading. His expression was that of a father whohappened to be reading the papers when his kid got home. It was a look of concern while also pretending not to care.

He said in a flat tone, “Have a seat.”Nathan complied, “Yes, sir!”

Camilla poured some tea for Hansel and Nathan. She grinned and said, “I have other matters to attend to. Have a good chat, you two. I'm bringingyou chicken pot pie later.”

With that, she left the roomOnly Nathan and Hansel were left in the royal study.

Hansel put away the newspaper and took a sip of his tea. Then, in a rather flat tone, he spoke to Nathan, "You have become increasingly rash in yourmissions, Nathan

“You've actually decided to take the hard way. You barged into a Cabinet official’s residence, ransacked the place, and even triggered a confrontationbetween the military and the police.

“If I hadn't been feeling much better, you would have been dismissed and severely punished by Boris’ gang, wouldn't you?‘I have exhausted great effort to train you. The country has spent plenty of resources on you.

Your brashness could have made it all go to waste!”novelbin

Nathan smirked in reply. “Sir, if I may be so bold, violence may not always solve the problem, but

it can get rid of the people with said problems.

Sometimes, violence can serve as an overt plan.

An overt plan!

Hansel was confounded by the very idea.

He proceeded to ask while eyeing Nathan suspiciously, “Have you possibly caught wind of certain news before this? Did you... samehow... know thatmy illness is fake? "

Nathan blinked conspicuously at Hansel and when he spoke, he seemed surprised, "Sir, are you telling me you have been pretending to be ill?”

Hansel saw through Nathan's pretense and understood the situation at once. Nathan was playing the fool. He must have noticed the signs earlier onand guessed that I was only pretending to be sick.

That was why-Nathan had acted soboldly. He tedk advantage of theopportunity’ to make arrests. He =>ransacked Boris’ house, beat theman up b when he least expected it,and-successfully obtained evidenceof Boris criminal activities. Contentbélongs to NovelDrama.Org <>

Hansel thought Nathan a reckless man. The President did not expect he would be fooled by him.

He looked at Nathan with greatadmiration. the young man hadcertainly developed a subtle way Qf>thinking. Hansel put up a rare smileas hecommended, “You've changed,Nathan. You have learned haw tocormbine wisdom and power intoone. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

Nathan said nothing, undisturbed by either favor or disgrace

Hansel continued, “Do you know why I locked you up in the Black Shack? Or why I didn’t go to you, didn’t release you earlier, and after all that you'refinally here to see me yet I still ignore you for the most part?”

Nathan said, “I do not know, sir.”

Hansel explained, “I wanted to test your patience, but in hindsight, it had seemed superfluous.

“There's something I want to tell you, and I'll tell you first here.”

Nathan responded, “I'm all ears, sir.”

Hansel disclosed the matter, “My term is coming to an end soon, by which time I shall abdicate my seat.

“If everything goes well, the next President should be elected from among the nine current elders in the Cabinet. as is the custom.“Now that Boris is in prison, there will be at least two empty seats among the Cabinet elders.

“When I retire, someone will have to fill my spot.

“I have been doing a lot of thinkingthis whole tirie, and in the end, Ibelieve thatyou are the best Ncandidate for the job. You may besyoung,-But you have plenty ofexperience on the battlefield, andyou are able to hold your own. Nowisthe time for you to entertheCabinet and take the reins.” Contentbelongs to NovelDrama.Org
