Chapter 1672

Hansel scanned through the decument in which its content brought about a cold smile to his face. In the end, he marked it with a big red cross beforehe wrote the word ‘disapproved.'

Then, he tossed it onto the conference table.Boris' face turned ashen while theCabinet members whe were on good terms with him looked visibly uneasy.

Casting his eyes upon them, Hansel stated coldly, “Nathan has indeed overstepped his authority when he led the Guardian Special Forces and theSecret Service to break into a cabinet member's residence. Yet. our country needs the North Army's protection, and no one else can lead the army asNathan does. How could you remove him from office without seeking my approval?”

Boris and the others dared not utter a single word in defense.Finally. Zion spoke up, “President Windsor, you're right. The Cabinet has indeed made a rash decision this time. So, what should we do with Nathan?”

Hansel pondered on this for a while before he spoke, “Nathan has indeed broken the rules, but we need to take his motives and the consequences ofhis action into consideration while we decide the course of action for this matter.

“Just like a person charged with homicide, there is a difference in the sentencing between manslaughter and premeditated murder. The motive andthe consequence of an act would bring about a substantial difference in decisionmaking.”

Zion and the others concurred with him, “President Windsor, you're absolutely right.”Right then, Hansel turned to glance at Camilla, giving her a faint nod.

The latter called out, “You can come in now.”

The next moment, Hailey and Will entered the Cabinet's conference hall.

Hansel looked at them. “The two of you were with Nathan yesterday at Mr. Tucker's residence. Tell me, why did you break into his house and take allof his documents and electronic gadgets?” he questioned.

Will answered, “I was there to help General to arrest the S-Class criminal. I know nothing about the documents and electronic gadgets.”

Then, Hailey added, “I was there to arrest the criminal as well. My subordinates and I seized Mr.

Tucker's property under General's order."

Hansel looked toward Nathan. "Does this mean that it was all your idea?”

Nathan replied, “Yes, President Windsor.”

“Why did you do that?” Hansel asked.

Nathan answered solemnly, “We were entrusted with the duty to arrest the criminal. No one can stop us from enforcing the law, including Mr. Tucker.“Besides, I knew that the criminal was Mr. Tucker's follower. Hence, Mr. Tucker must have had something to do with him.

“In the past, when Director Reagan and I investigated Christopher, we found out that he and Mr. Tucker were involved in the selling of official titlesand many corruption cases; unfortunately, we didn't manage to locate the evidence.

“Hence, I instructed Hailey to conduct a search in Mr. Tucker's residence to find the incriminating evidence. President Windsor, if we can prove himguilty, please hold him accountable for his misdeeds

“If it turns out that Mr. Tucker is innocent, I will accept my punishment for making a false accusation against him.”

Bang!

Hansel slammed the table andreprimandecangrily, “Nonsense!Even if you.suspect Mr. Tucker of =>committiag acrime, you can't simplybreak into his house. If everyonebreaks the rules like you, there willbeso order in this country.-Contentbelongs to NovelDrama.Org ©

“I know. It was wrong of me to have broken the law,” Nathan admitted his mistake.

Hailey immediately spoke up forhim, “President Windsor, we lookedthrough all thé: documents the othernight. We fotind out that Boris has —abused his dower in selling officiattitles and accepting bribes; he evencolluded with foreign forces in-attacking he General. AltheughGeneral acted recklessly, he hasatoned for his mistakes by findingBoris’ incriminating evidence for hismisconduct. Please be lenient withhim.” Content belongs toNovelDrama.Org

“Still. I can't let him off easily,” Hansel insisted.

Then, he looked toward Will. “Will, you're the head of the Guardian Special Forces. Let me ask you, what's the heaviest military punishment?

Will was slightly bewildered. Hiseyes darted-from side to side whilehe uttereckténtati vely, ‘The heaviestpunishment... to be put into solitaryconfirament? This is the scariestounighment. No soldier can standbeiig locked in the Black Shack. .Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

Hansel nodded. “Alright, then we'll put Nathan Cross into solitary confinement for three days!“Yes, President Windsor!” Will repliedThe other cabinet members traded looks with one another. That's it?novelbin

Upon determining Nathan's punishment, Hansel turned to face Boris. “It's time to deal with you now.
