Chapter 2049

James had no idea what the custodian was trying to do.

Still, he stood up and obediently followed her.

The custodian stepped into the air, walking at a slow pace because she was afraid James could notkeep up with her.

James resolutely followed behind her.

After passing through many collapsed mountains and dried-up rivers, James saw a glow beforehim. As they got closer, the glow intensified, and James recognized it was flames that he saw.

The mountain range was encircled by an inferno, which burned with an eerie, white flame. The sightwas slightly unsettling.

The custodian stopped outside the mountain range that was surrounded by flames. James alsohalted in his tracks.

Although they were standing far from the inferno, James could feel the burning heat, and drops ofsweat kept forming on his forehead.

He was shocked because no ordinary flames had an effect on him at his rank.

“What is this place?” asked James.

The custodian replied, “This is the Flame Energy of a particularly strong person which he left behindfrom ancient times. Even after so many years, his Flame Energy burns ever so brightly. I broughtyou here to use the flames to refine your True Energy.”

“From ancient times?” James was shocked.

How powerful did this ancestor have to be to leave behind these roaring flames that were stillburning long after his death?

“Will this burn me to death, Miss?”

He feared the heat would be worse since he could already feel it from afar.

The custodian gently waved her hand and said, “You’ll be fine. You have a strong body. Althoughthe flames are intense, they cannot destroy your body. At most, you’re going to feel a little bit ofpain. After you enter the flames, don’t try to resist them. Instead, allow the flames to enter your bodyfirst before you activate your True Energy to fight it. It’ll allow your True Energy to improve.”

After learning he would not be burned to death, James sighed in relief.

James was prepared to risk it all to acquire the Celestial Abode and become stronger.

He strode forward and felt the scorching heat as he got closer. Before he stepped into the flames,he felt like he was inside a sauna, and his whole body was drenched in sweat.

However, the heat was still tolerable.

He continued advancing into the flames.

When he walked into the flames, the sweat on his body began to evaporate, and his skin began toscald. James felt excruciating pain all over his body.

His face was distorted from the pain.

“H-How is this a little bit of pain?! This feels worse than death.”

James gritted his teeth in agony.

Fwoosh!

At that moment, a column of flames swept toward him.

James did not resist it.novelbin

The flames were magical and entered his body through his pores.

His flesh was singed as soon as the flames entered his body. At that moment, James felt like hewas on the brink of death.

He immediately sat in a lotus position on the ground and mobilized his True Energy to resist theflames entering his body.

During the confrontation of energies, the flames continuously burned away at his True Energy.

“Incredible.”

Although James was enduring intense pain, he was thrilled to feel his True Energy being refinedthrough the flames.

He sat in a lotus position and began using the power of his flames to purify his True Energy. Themiraculous flames gradually made his True Energy purer.

Afterward, James began absorbing the Empyrean Spiritual Energy around him and augmenting hisTrue Energy with it.

Once, twice, three times, and ten times…

After repeatedly increasing his True Energy, he could sense that he had reached his limit.

“Break!”

He mobilized the True Energy throughout his body.

His True Energy overflowed from his meridians, surged through his body, and shattered theinvincible Inner Gate in his body.

Boom!

A loud sound came from his body as the Inner Gate fell apart.

“I did it!”
