Sitting in a lotus position next to the small tree was a woman.
It was Delainey who sat there cultivating. Perhaps it was due to absorbing the silver fruit, butDelainey radiated a silver glow that made it seem like she was bathed in moonlight. It made herlook exquisite and mystical.
Sensing someone approaching, Delainey stopped cultivating. She raised her head and stood upexcitedly. “You’re back, James!”
James nodded and said, “Thank you, Delainey.”
“W-Who’s that with you?”
Delainey looked at the woman behind James.
James smiled and explained, “This is my mother.”
Delainey immediately greeted her with a smile, “Madam.”
“Hello, nice to meet you,” Xadra replied with a smile.
Delainey changed the topic and said, “James, the Sacred Tree has borne fruit. They’re amazing.I’ve been cultivating near the tree during this period, and that alone already improved my cultivationbase significantly.”
“That’s good.”
James walked over and observed the two fruits on the tree. He picked them and handed one toDelainey as he said, “You’ve worked hard. Here, have this fruit.”
Delainey immediately shook her head and said, “I can’t accept it.”
She pushed the fruit back to him.
“You should keep it, James. We’re all counting on you to repel the Overworld Outsiders. You mustaugment your strength as much as you can. The stronger you are, the higher chances of humanity’ssurvival.”
James took back the fruit and handed it to Xandra.
“Mom, you can have it then.”
Xandra also pushed his hand away. “Why are you giving it to me? Delainey’s right. You have toprioritize improving your strength as soon as possible. Don’t you also want to acquire the CelestialAbode? This fruit should be able to improve your strength tremendously.”
James reluctantly put the fruits away.
“I won’t be stay long in the Southern Plains. I’m counting on you to develop Wrymstead, Delainey.”
Delainey grinned, flashing her brilliant, white teeth. “Mhm! I’ll do my best!”
After James plucked the fruits, he inspected the tree. After having its fruits picked, the tree seemedto have lost vitality and withered instantly.
The tree’s condition did not matter to James. He left with Xandra and the fruits.
Soon, he reached Mount Tai.
Following the route he remembered, he went to the mountain ravine where the Chamber ofScriptures was located. He dove into the water and emerged at an underground cave.
Shortly after, they appeared in front of the underground tower’s entrance.
The stone entrance was shut.
James walked over, pushed open the stone gate, and entered the Chamber of Scriptures’ first floor.
Xandra looked at the surroundings and asked, “Where are we, James?”
James explained, “This is earth’s Chamber of Scriptures. It stores all the signature cultivationmethods left behind by earth’s ancestors. It’s a place prepared for the humans of Earth. However,it’ll only be open to outsiders after the Earth undergoes drastic changes. Moreover, a powerfulcustodian guards this place. This is also where Thea is purifying her Demonic Energy.”
“I see.” Xandra nodded in understandingnovelbin

James opened his mouth and shouted, “Ms. Custodian, are you here? It’s James! I’m here to seeyou.”
After his voice rang out, a white light shone, and a beautiful woman appeared.
It was the Chamber of Scriptures’ custodian.
“It’s a pleasure to see you again, Ms. Custodian.”
“Likewise.” The custodian nodded gently. However, her eyes were not looking at James but atXandra.
James quickly explained, “You told me to bring anyone with a similar condition to Thea to this placeto purify the Demonic Energy within them. This is my mother. She also has a similar condition asThea.”
The custodian nodded gently and said, “Indeed. I can sense it. Since that’s the case, come withme.”
After speaking, the custodian waved her hand, and powerful energy enveloped James and Xandra.
The two felt their vision distort, and they were teleported away.
Soon, they were in the depths of the tower.
There was an altar with a Grand Extremity pattern engraved on it. Thea was sitting on it, emanatingstrong energy that shocked even James.
“This is…? It seems Thea made rapid progress over the years.”
