Chapter 1932

James said, “I’m going back to Cansington to take a look.”

He promised Thea that he would go see Winnie frequently.

However, it had been more than six months since he had last seen her. Winnie was already a yearold. If there was nothing out of the ordinary, she should be able to walk by now.

‘I wonder if Winnie knows how to say “dad”.’

A blissful expression spread across James’ face as soon as he thought of Winnie.

At the same time, he missed Thea. Over six months had passed, and he had no idea how she wasdoing.

“Alright. You should go back to Cansington, then. I’ll return to the Southern Plains,” Delainey said, nodding.

Following that, James and Delainey part ways. He left for Cansington, while Delainey brought theBlack Eagle King back with her to the Southern Plains.

After half a day, James appeared at the Callahans’ villa in Cansington.

Over the last six months, the Callahan family had grown increasingly powerful in Sol, in terms ofboth financial prowess and overall strength.

It was a result of the Callahan family’s skill in leveraging James’ influence to expand theirbusinesses. James was the Emperor of Dragonville, the ruler of a country. Furthermore, he was soclosely connected to Sol.

Using James’ connections, the Callahan family quickly rose to prominence, becoming the top familyin Sol right now. Even on a global scale, the family had some influence.

In the living room of the Callahans’ villa, a one-year-old toddler was crawling on the floor.

She got to her feet, but only took a few steps before falling to the ground again, wailing in pain.Gladys immediately walked over and picked her up.

James walked in just in time to see this happen.

“Mother,” he called her.

Gladys turned around to see James approaching with a joyful expression on his face. She hurriedover, smiling.

“My good son-in-law, you’re back.”

“Winnie.” As James looked at the child in Gladys’ arms, he reached out, wanting to hold her.

Gladys handed over Winnie.

“Wahhh…” Winnie immediately burst out crying. Tears streamed down her cheeks.

Gladys immediately took Winnie back, and she stopped crying in an instant, staring at James withher small, innocent eyes.

“She’s shy around strangers now,” said Gladys with a laugh.

“Mhm.” James nodded and sat on the sofa. He was blaming himself for not being a competentfather.

“By the way, where’s Thea?” Gladys asked, “Why didn’t she come back with you?”

“Thea’s busy and can’t get away for the time being. She won’t be back for several years,” saidJames.

Gladys did not suspect anything.

After that, James stayed in Cansington temporarily. He spent every day with his child. After a fewdays, the child stopped being wary of him and would approach James for hugs. She could talk now, albeit not very clearly.

With James’ guidance, she was somewhat able to call him dad.

This time, James stayed in Cansington for half a month.

Half a month passed…

“Father, mother, grandfather. There’re still some issues to deal with in Dragonville. I’ll be going backnow.”

James looked around the room at the Callahan family.novelbin

Lex stepped forward promptly and said, “Go. National affairs are important.”

James stared at Winnie. He was a little hesitant to leave her. He wished he could take Winnie withhim, but he was going back to meditate in seclusion and cultivate. He would not have time to carefor the child.

“I’ll have to trouble you to take care of Winnie, then.”

“Don’t say that. It’s fine. We’re family,” Timothy began to speak. “Don’t worry. Your child is absolutelysafe with the Callahan family. Who in Sol would dare to come looking for trouble at the Callahans’villa?”

Lex was not exaggerating. The Callahan family was indeed that powerful. Right now, the Callahanswere the most prominent family in Sol.

Add to that the existence of James and Thea, and no one in the whole of Sol dared to do anythingto the Callahan family.
