Chapter 1172

Thea was also shocked by the sight.

What was going on?

“W-Who are you people?” Thea looked at the people kneeling on the ground.

The man in the lead said respectfully, “Ms. Thea, the Dragon King has given us the order to escort you

to the villa.”

Thea was stunned and quickly questioned, “James? Where is he?”

“Please come with us, Ms. Thea. You’ll know once we arrive at the villa.”

Maxine walked toward Thea, cast a glance at her, and asked, “You don’t believe their nonsense, right?”

Obviously, Thea did not believe them. She was not that stupid.

However, James was being controlled, and meeting up with him would be challenging. Still, it was

necessary to meet up with him to discuss the situation.

Thea replied, “I’ll come with you.”

Maxine quickly pulled her back and said, “Are you stupid? James went through so much trouble to

rescue Quincy and the others. You’ll be walking into a trap if you follow them. Wouldn’t you be causing

him more trouble if they captured and used you to threaten him again?”

“But…”

“Don’t give me any more buts,” Maxine interrupted.

She glanced at the people kneeling and said coldly, “I don’t care who you are. Please leave. Thea will

not be going with you.”

“Your words don’t matter.” The man kneeling on the ground stood up.

He looked at the old man that had sealed Thea’s acupoint and said, “Langley…”

The man instantly vanished and reappeared in front of Maxine, grabbed her by the neck, and lifted her

off the ground.

Thea shouted, “What are you doing?! Stop it!”

“Ms. Thea, please come with us, and we won’t make things difficult for her. Otherwise…”

“Stop it. I’ll come with you.”

The leader ordered, “Put her down, Langley…”

Langley finally put Maxine down.

Maxine’s neck was red from being strangled, and she coughed repeatedly after being released. She

looked at Thea and shook her head.

Thea said, “I don’t have a choice now, Maxine. I’ll go and see James. You stay here and don’t go

anywhere.”

After speaking, she turned around and left.

The men quickly followed after her.

Maxine sat on the sofa, and her pretty face was full of worry.

“What the hell are they trying to do? Why did they take Thea away?” Maxine murmured.

James had already consumed the poison, so why were they taking Thea? Could they be trying to use

Thea to threaten James again?

Thea walked out of the hotel and got into the car.

She sat in the back row of the vehicle.

Another person was in charge of driving the car, while the person that had pointed his gun at Maxine

got into the passenger seat.

Thea asked coldly, “W-Who are you people? Do you have James?”

“Ms. Thea, what are you talking about? We’re the Dragon King’s subordinates. The Mount Thunder

Conference is approaching, and he’s preparing to accomplish something big. He was worried that

others would target you for revenge. Thus, he specifically sent us to pick you up and bring you

somewhere safe.”

Thea asked, “What is he trying to accomplish?”novelbin

“I don’t know. I’ll bring you to a place to stay for the time being. I’m sure he’ll tell you after he returns.”

Hearing this, Thea frowned.

She knew that things were not as simple as they made them out to be.

‘Accomplish something?

‘What was he trying to do?’ Thea racked her brains.

Could it be that it was as Maxine suggested? Had the enemy forced James to take action against the

other ancient martial art sects and families so that his relationship with the righteous faction would fall

apart, leaving him with no choice but to join the Gu Sect?

Thea had a feeling that that was likely the case.

If it was true, she had to see James as soon as possible and stop him from going down the wrong path.

Otherwise, there would be no more turning back.

Soon, they arrived at the villa.

Lucjan personally came out to greet her.

“Haha, you’re here, Thea!”

He smiled brightly and welcomed her.

Thea recognized Lucjan at a glance because she had also read the information by Yaroslav and had a

general understanding of some of the significant figures in the Gu Sect.
