Chapter 171

Chapter 171

Wesley had recovered considerably after he was done dealing with Zola, and he went home the nextday with his cat.

He was interviewed at the airport, and one of the journalists asked him why he had brought the cat withhim instead of letting his girlfriend take care of it.

Wesley smiled gently. "She still has work to do, so I don't want to tire her out."

When Trevor watched Wesley's interview, he almost died when he heard such sweet words comingfrom that man's mouth and immediately tossed his phone aside.

However, Trevor could finally relax. Now that Wesley was gone, he didn't have to worry aboutsomething happening between Wesley and Emma anymore, and he no longer had to be so jealous ofWesley being with Emma either.

Trevor had dinner with Zachary again. Kaleb had a night shift scheduled that day, so he was absent.

Zachary complained to Trevor, "Don't keep asking me out for dinner; you should try and ask Emma outinstead."

Trevor rolled his eyes at Zachary. If he could successfully ask Emma out, would he while his time awaywith Zachary?

If Trevor could ask Emma out, this friend and brother of his would lose all value to him. When that

happened, he wouldn't even spare Zachary a glance. Otherwise, the latter would make fun of hissituation again.

Zachary pretended not to mind as he said, "By the way, Emma has gone to Kingsford, so you won't beable to ask her out in the next few days even if you want to."

Trevor was shocked. "She went to Kingsford?"

He knew nothing about Emma going there.

Zachary nodded. "Yeah, I saw her Instagram post about letting Susanna take care of the cat you gaveher, so I asked her about it. She told me she's going to Kingsford."

Zachary and Kaleb could still get in touch with Emma, so they naturally knew of Emma's whereabouts.Trevor, who was recently blocked, had no idea at all.

He was both shocked and annoyed, and there was also an indescribable sense of defeat in his heart.

In her eyes, he was on a level even lower than Zachary.

Zachary continued, "By the way, you wanted me to look into that mug. From what I've heard, it can nolonger be bought. I can only get someone to make a similar mug based on the one in the photo."

Zachary then said with certainty, "You're giving it to Emma, aren't you?"

Trevor couldn't hide the sullen look in his eyes. "Yeah, I broke that mug of hers."

Zachary shrugged. "I don't know what to say to you. I've never seen someone pursue a woman withsuch difficulty like yours."

Trevor was in the dumps. He never thought that he would face so much trouble in the process ofwinning Emma's heart back either.

He thought that she still loved him as she did before, and he only needed to show some goodwill forher to return to his arms.

On the contrary, despite his continuous efforts to express his love, she didn't go back to him. Thewoman even blocked his number, and he could only hear about her from other people.

"Still, it's good for you to go through some trouble. You can only treasure her properly after workingextra hard for her." Zachary had just comforted Trevor when he saw the latter taking out his phone andmaking a call to Chase. Trevor was asking Chase to book an overnight flight to Kingsford.

Zachary thought Trevor was being a little dramatic. "Why are you following her?"

Trevor frowned and said seriously, "She must be going to Kingsford to see Wilson; he wants to be hergodfather, after all."

At the mention of that, Trevor suddenly changed the topic. "Wilson has only met her once, so why doeshe want to be her godfather all of a sudden?"

Zachary also frowned and said worriedly, "Are you saying that Wilson has ulterior motives toward her?"

Then again, Zachary analyzed the situation and said, "However, Wilson's reputation in this field hasbeen decent these years. Also, his background wouldn't allow him to do something like that, would it?"

Some people came from backgrounds they were allowed to defile, but some came from extremelyclean backgrounds that could never be soiled.

The Young Family belonged to the latter. It wasn't because the Youngs weren't in a position highenough to risk any defamation; rather, they were in a position so high that not a speck of dirt would betolerated.

Trevor snorted. "What if there's a hidden side to him? There are too many beasts with human masks inthis world. She's innocent, so that's why I have to go and find out."

Zachary thought that Trevor's words made sense, but he still reminded the man by saying, "You'dbetter be careful in case you offend Wilson."

Zachary thought that Trevor had made love rivals out of every man Emma came into contact with, soTrevor had this weird sense of rivalry with all of them. That was why he gave Trevor this kind reminder.

If Wilson earnestly wanted Emma to be his goddaughter, Trevor would be in huge trouble if heaccidentally offended the man.

It would only make it harder for him to win Emma's heart back. After all, the powerful Young Familywould be backing Emma from then on.

Trevor responded half-heartedly, then took a few more bites before getting up to leave. He was going

home to pack his luggage before catching the flight later.

Indeed, Emma had gone to Kingsford. She had already promised Wilson to go before this, but becauseof Wesley's illness, she had to delay the trip for a day. After Wesley bid her goodbye, telling her that hewould be going home, she bought tickets for Kingsford. novelbin

Emma arrived in the afternoon, and Wilson sent someone to fetch her. She had already booked a hotel, but Wilson insisted that she stay in the hotel he had arranged for her, which was the most expensiveand luxurious hotel in Kingsford.

Unable to reject the kind offer, Emma could only stay there.

After she rested for a bit, Wilson drove his own car and took her out for dinner that night.

Emma wasn't a fool who was too trusting of people, and she had also suspected Wilson's motives forbeing so kind to her before.

However, when she met Wilson again this time, she could see the sincerity and happiness in his eyes.Evidently, Wilson was welcoming her in earnest.

As for Emma, she had a sense of familiarity and trust toward Wilson for some reason, and sheinstinctively felt that Wilson wouldn't hurt her.

When she was dining with Wilson, Emma said that she wanted to visit Mrs. Young in the hospital thefollowing day.

Mrs. Young's maiden name was Nina Sullivan. The Sullivan Family was once prestigious as well, and

Nina was on the same standing as Wilson back then. However, in recent years, the Sullivans hadslowly fallen to ruin, but that didn't affect the relationship between Wilson and Nina.

Wilson didn't care about the fact that they didn't have children, so why would he care about familyreputation and the likes?

"Sure." Wilson was overjoyed. "I've arranged everything. Your Aunt Sullivan is getting discharged fromthe hospital tomorrow, so we'll fetch her together. Then, we'll attend a family gathering at night."

Since he feared that Emma would be worried about the family gathering, Wilson smiled and said,"Don't worry, I've already told them about you beforehand. You don't have to worry that they won'taccept you."

Emma was touched. "Thank you."

Wilson smiled. "In the future, there will be no need for thanks between us."

After dinner, Wilson offered her a ride around the city to get used to the environment in Kingsford. Heeven said that if possible, he wanted Emma to come and live here in the future.

Of course, Wilson also said that he knew Emma had grown up and lived in Jonestown, so he wouldn'tforce her.
