Chapter 1960

Chapter 1960 Jackie laughed coldly, not backing down from the provocation. “Who can really predict what’s going tohappen in the future? I know I can’t. However, I can say with certainty that everyone has seen how youfailed to light up the fifth light after all your bragging. It sounds like you’re jealous of me. But what’s theuse of being jealous? You have no right to speak to me like that after failing to light up the fifth light. Thesengen pill, the contribution points, and the single residence-I’ve earned all that with my own power.”

Morton’s face darkened even more as if someone had forced him to eat sh*t. No one had spoken to himlike that before. Ever. Each of Jackie’s words was like a knife stabbing through his heart. He wastrembling all over and the corners of his lips began to twitch uncontrollably. He glared even more fiercelyat Jackie.

However, Jackie remained unbothered no matter how much Morton glared at him. Throughout hisexperience, he had met countless insignificant people like Morton. He would not take what they said toheart no matter how much they tried to provoke a reaction out of him.

On the contrary, Gerald was silent throughout Jackie’s and Morton’s whole exchange. From time to time,he would throw an unfriendly look in Jackie’s direction but other than that Jackie had no idea what hewas thinking. He was better at keeping his emotions under control than Morton. He was not going to belike that foolish Morton-an open book.

After the test, Ambrose led the newly recruited informal disciples to their accommodation and to get theirjade identification cards. The jade identification cards were used to identify themselves and for thecollection of the contribution points. They would only need to show their jade identification cards if theywanted to exchange something from their contribution points. It was handy and practical, a must for anyClan association.

As an informal disciple, Jackie finally got to experience the majesty of the Dual Sovereign Pavilion. Therewere innumerable buildings inside, countless luxurious rooms, and a double corridor packed with Clan

associations. There were disciples going to and from everywhere and each of them was wearing thesame uniform and accessories which enhanced their gentlemanly and extraordinary refinement.

After thirty minutes of walking, the newly recruited informal disciples finally arrived at the more remoteparts of the area. In front of them were some low, uniform buildings. They needed no introduction toknow that the buildings would be their new accommodation from now on. Although the buildings were notas luxurious as the ones they saw on their way, they were at least very clean.

Most of the newly recruited informal disciples came from prestigious families meaning they were used tostaying at a much better accommodation than the buildings in front of them. They started to complaininternally to themselves at how they had to downgrade their living standards after being an informaldisciple.

It did not matter to Ambrose what they were thinking. He laughed coldly and turned around to look at thenewly recruited informal disciples. “As the newly recruited informal disciples, you all rank the lowest ofthe lowest in the Dual Sovereign Pavilion. If you want to live in a big house or even a palace, you have toprove that you deserve it, otherwise you can only live in this kind of place. There are many detachedhouses and even palaces here, but only the most powerful disciples can stay there.”
