Chapter 1959

Chapter 1959 Jackie could not hold in his laughter anymore. “If what you said is true, then Muddled Origin Clan musthave really thought this through because, to be honest, it’s better to keep their best talent back at theheadquarter. Why would they single-handedly deliver me to you? I swear I’m innocent. If you don’tbelieve me, you can go check it out. I’ll be here waiting for you.”novelbin

What he was doing was the best way to prove his innocence. No one would be magnanimous if theywere really a spy. It would have been difficult for him to turn this around if he had not captured theattention of the higher-ups of the Dual Sovereign Pavilion through his display of power then Zeph wouldbe able to do anything to him without anyone knowing better.

However, it was different now. He had proven his worth so the Dual Sovereign Pavilion higher-ups woulddefinitely intervene in the matter. Besides, he was sure of his innocence. There was no way anyevidence against him would turn up.

Jackie turned to face the crowd and said, “I do have an enemy. I’ve mentioned him before and his nameis Warren Alexander. He’s the one behind all this. I’m sure you’ll find evidence of their collusion once aninvestigation is underway. The truth must be sought no matter what.”

Elder Lee looked at Jackie with an unfathomable expression and said, “I will send someone to conductan investigation right away. If what you say is true, we will be sure to clear your name. As for you, OfficerGriffin, you’re to stay in the Clan association with no contact with the outside world.”

At this, Zeph’s face darkened as if he had eaten something disagreeable while Ambrose was smiling likethe first flower to blossom in spring. “I agree that an investigation should be conducted but the test mustgo on too. Those who still haven’t taken the test please step up to the stage. If there’s no one else, wewill wrap up the test now.”

One by one, the nervous test-takers went up the stage to take their place in front of the obsidian. As forJackie, it was only natural for him to stand behind Ambrose for no matter what was said, he passed thetest and is officially an informal disciple of the Dual Sovereign Pavilion.

After this, they would need to give him the reward and arrange for his accommodation. Jackie wasstanding not far from Morton and Gerald. Their expressions were bitter as they felt themselves to be thelaughing stock of everyone. All that bragging and only four lights light up. What was worse was they wereupstaged by an unknown nobody. Their anger flared up again when they thought about this.

Morton glowered at Jackie. He had transferred all his hatred for Gerald to Jackie-who he had deemed ashis number one public enemy. “Don’t even think for a second everything will be smooth sailing for younow that you’ve been recruited into the Dual Sovereign Pavilion. Accidents can happen anytime, anywhere.”

His tone and eyes filled with hatred left Jackie with no room for doubt as to what he meant. However, hehad never paid him any mind and he was not going to start now. It was true Morton was a strong fighterbut his narrow-mindedness was a huge turn off for anyone. Jackie would never give in to him for he knewIf he gave an inch, he would take a mile. Besides, why should he give in when he really should kick himto the ground?
