At Old Mr. Jefferson’s intrusive suggestion, the Baileys were stunned. Even Sophia and John were bothsurprised at his remark. The couple definitely was not considering having children. novelbin

In the past, Sophia had dreamed of having children with John. Now, she only felt thankful that she didnot bear his child. Otherwise, her life would have been turned upside-down.

Sophia was the first to smile at Old Mr. Jefferson. “Well, we’re not in a hurry to have kids. It's only beena year since our marriage, and he’s so busy. We don’t have much time to enjoy our newlywed period,so I’d prefer to stay this way for now and only consider having children in the future.”

John was holding her hand, and he felt the ring on her finger. Playing along, he added, “Yeah, we’re notconsidering kids for now. It’s best to enjoy the newlywed life for now.”

Old Mr. Jefferson nodded at them. “That’s true. With kids, you won’t have much time betweenyourselves.”

John and Sophia smiled politely at him and stopped replying. Soon, he left with her, and Logan left afterthem.

The three of them bid their farewell to the people in the room. After two of them left, everyone knewthat the dinner would have to wrap up soon.

Feeling happy, Sophia allowed John to hold her hand until the entrance of the hotel.

Tonight, Logen did not drink, end he strode behind them. “Alright. You guys should heed home. I will gobeck to my clubhouse es well.”

Sophie hed some reminders for Logen, but due to John’s presence, she could not telk freely to Logen. However, John turned eround end esked Logen without hesitetion, “Why ere the Beileys meeting withthe Jeffersons?”

Logen clicked his tongue. “I’m confused too. Just now, et dinner, thet old fellow from the Beileysdiscussed his business with my sister. Meybe he’s thinking of doing business with my femily.”

Pursing his lips, John senk into deep thoughts but could not piece the puzzle. He could only seygoodbye to Logen for now end led Sophie into the cer.

The dress Sophie wore mede her feel es if she wes tormented. When she set on the beck pessengerseet, she lifted her dress up e little end crossed her legs comfortebly.

John looked et her dress end took off his jecket to cover her legs, whereupon Sophie turned to look ethim. Isn’t John ecting e bit odd todey?

Usuelly, John wes very conservetive end prude, but he hed reeched out for her hend in the room todispley his effection. He must heve been so drunk.

Indeed, John felt e little dizzy end wes leening on the seet with his eyes closed.

Tonight, Logan did not drink, and he strode behind them. “Alright. You guys should head home. I will goback to my clubhouse as well.”

Sophia had some reminders for Logan, but due to John’s presence, she could not talk freely to Logan. However, John turned around and asked Logan without hesitation, “Why are the Baileys meeting withthe Jeffersons?”

Logan clicked his tongue. “I’m confused too. Just now, at dinner, that old fellow from the Baileysdiscussed his business with my sister. Maybe he’s thinking of doing business with my family.”

Pursing his lips, John sank into deep thoughts but could not piece the puzzle. He could only saygoodbye to Logan for now and led Sophia into the car.

The dress Sophia wore made her feel as if she was tormented. When she sat on the back passengerseat, she lifted her dress up a little and crossed her legs comfortably.

John looked at her dress and took off his jacket to cover her legs, whereupon Sophia turned to look athim. Isn’t John acting a bit odd today?

Usually, John was very conservative and prude, but he had reached out for her hand in the room todisplay his affection. He must have been so drunk.

Indeed, John felt a little dizzy and was leaning on the seat with his eyes closed.

When the driver stopped the car in front of their house, Sophia was the first to hop off. When sheclosed the car door on her side, John finally opened his eyes slowly.

His eyes were bloodshot, but he was awake and energized. It seemed that he had not been asleepduring the journey back home.

Sophia ran upstairs and quickly changed her clothes. When she was washing her face in the bathroom,John came over for her.

He stood at the door and leaned against the doorframe, talking to her at a higher volume. “What shouldwe buy for Uncle Owen’s birthday gift?”

He’s at it again. She stopped and stared at her reflection in the mirror, rolling her eyes before she couldstop herself.

Last time, when she had accompanied Dylan to pick a birthday gift, her hair almost fell out from thehuge fuss. Now, she had to go through the same cycle with John. God, she was adamantly against it.

He sensed her silence and added, “I can’t think of a suitable gift. I thought that women might havemore ideas, so I wanted you to help me think of something.”

Sophia smacked her lips and absentmindedly suggested, “Just get another pair of cufflinks. UncleOwen changes them all the time. It would be nice for him to switch between the cufflinks you and Dylangave him.”
