Chapter 1972

Is Ian a lucky man? Cindy had never thought of something like that. Instead, she felt like she hadlearned a lot after being together with Ian, so she couldn’t really tell who was the luckier one.

While she lay in bed and continued to talk to Gary, she realized that he had lots of free time on hishands since he wasn’t rushing to return to work.

Although the two of them were talking about nothing important, the atmosphere was great, so Cindytook the opportunity and asked, “Mr. Frye, how long has it been since you broke up with your ex-girlfriend?” novelbin

Gary thought for a moment. “It’s been five to six years already, I think. I have been trying to look for anew girlfriend after that.”

She was surprised. “Five to six years? That’s really long. Why didn’t you look for a new girlfriend afterthat, though? Is it because you haven't moved on yet?”

Still, it wasn’t because he couldn’t move on, but it was because he was extremely busy and had notime to actively look for a new girlfriend.

Besides, his last relationship had ended on a bad note, so it kind of ruined his thought to invest in anew relationship.

Moreover, Gary had been enjoying his life as a singleton, so he was alright with his current situation.

He would have to make many changes in his life to accommodate a new person, which was somethingthat he was unwilling to do.

Thus, he chose to remain single after considering all these factors.

Meanwhile, Cindy pondered about Gary’s relationship status while holding onto her phone beforearriving at the conclusion that she shouldn’t comment much about it, so she merely asked, “You guyshaven’t been in contact during this period?”

Gary hummed in acknowledgement. “We hadn’t talked to each other since we broke up.”

Since he and his ex-girlfriend were upset when they broke up, both of them proceeded to delete eachother’s contact details.

After that, he had heard from their mutual friend that she settled down and married. He didn’t reallykeep close tabs on her life thereafter, but he figured that she was probably living a good life now.

Upon hearing that, Cindy commented, “If that’s the case, your next girlfriend probably won’t be jealousof your ex then, so in a way, it’s kind of a good thing, I guess.”

Gary immediately laughed. “Well, that does make sense. I guess I just made my life easier in the futurethen.”

There was a hint of a smile in Cindy’s voice as well. “If you think of things in a positive manner, life isactually great.”

Then, Gary asked her, “Is this how you normally comfort yourself when you run into upsetting issues inthe entertainment field?”

At this moment, Cindy raised her eyebrow. Honestly, what she encountered wasn't really upsetting asshe was only agitated because of the things that happened to Ian and she would share the samefeelings as him as a result. Although she could advise others, her advice wasn't applicable to herself.

She had never followed her own advice to endure those trying times. Instead, she relied on Ian toresolve matters and once it was settled, her irritation would disappear.

Still, she couldn’t tell Gary that, so she merely hummed in agreement while he lamented, “You’re reallya sensible person.”

Then, the two of them continued to chat for a long while until he finally ended the call due to work.

When Cindy first knew Gary, she had no problem talking to him despite them not being close to eachother. However, now that they knew each other better, she couldn’t help but feel pressured every timeshe talked to him.

Yet, she didn’t know whether it was because she was being overly sensitive or because the way hespoke to her and the things that he would say didn’t sound normal at times.

However, she couldn’t figure out what was wrong from the things that Gary said and those weirdfeelings that plagued her left her pressured to speak to him.

After that, Cindy placed her phone by her side and continued lying on her bed.
