Chapter 1889

Cindy shook her head without saying anything else, indicating the fact that Yulia didn’t reveal a lotabout Ian’s bewilderment. Nonetheless, she went on and said, “Well, Yulia mentioned that shecanvassed for you during your talent show competition.”

In response, Ian sniggered and said, “Seriously? I reserve judgment about what she told you.” Ianbelieved he was someone with a good memory but couldn’t remember who Yulia was at all. Althoughthere was a possibility that he might have forgotten her because he had met too many people over theyears, he didn’t think he would forget Yulia's conceit and arrogance so easily.

Cindy leaned back in her seat and let out a sigh. “Well, I suppose it makes me feel a little betterknowing that you don’t remember her.”

Then, she turned her attention to the filming set and added, “It seems to me that Yulia treats you morethan just an acquaintance. I don’t know whether it was because she no longer bothers to hide herfeelings anymore, but she surely did act like she didn’t care about that in front of me.”

The driver sitting in front turned around and looked at the couple. “What? Yulia is into Ian?”

Seemingly trusting the driver, Cindy didn’t bother to hide her instinct and replied with an affirmativehum, “Wasn’t that what you previously suspected?”

Despite his suspicion, the driver still appeared to be surprised after hearing Cindy’s words. “Oh gosh! That lady really knows how to look for the right man for herself, but I don’t think she and Ian wouldmake a perfect match. After all, that lady is such a stuck-up snob, although Ian could bask in her gloryif he dates her. Nonetheless, I think dating her is going to be quite tiring for you, Ian.”

Ian shot a gaze at the driver in an amused manner. “What’re you talking about? I’ll never lay my eyeson her.”

Aware that his words might have sounded a little too contemptuous, the driver quickly explained forhimself. “I know, I know. I was trying to look at it from a man's perspective, plus you already have agirlfriend, and that’s all the more reason you both will never be together.”

Then, he went on and complimented Cindy, saying, “Besides, I think Cindy is so much prettier than sheis. At least, she looks much friendlier and more approachable, but that lady has nothing else worthpraising about herself other than her high social status. In fact, she looks like the feisty and coy type ofwoman to me.”

Ian sat straight and leaned back in his seat. “Alright, let’s hit the road now. We’d like to quit thinkingabout that and go back now.”

Thus, the driver stepped on the gas pedal and headed toward Ian’s residence. While neither of themsaid anything on their way to their destination, the driver seemingly couldn’t stand the fact that Yuliawas into Ian and decided to do something about it. As soon as they arrived in the residential area inwhich Ian lived, he turned his attention to Cindy and probingly asked, “Seriously? So Yulia really has acrush on Ian, but could that be a misunderstanding?”

As much as Cindy hoped it was a misunderstanding, she was disgusted with Yulia even though shewould make Ian look even prouder if she was his girlfriend. After all, Yulia’s possessive nature wasespecially evident in those few attempts when she showed up around Ian without any concern abouthis girlfriend at all.

Deep down, Cindy was aware that someone like Yulia would prove difficult for her to deal with as she

believed she wouldn’t have to do anything if Yulia was someone with a strong sense of morality. Thiswas because she would have walked away from the entanglement due to the conscientious struggle onthe inside, which was why those who didn’t mind compromising their morality would be so much harderto handle.

I can’t believe that’s the kind of person Yulia is.

When Cindy got home, she got herself refreshed and stepped out of the bathroom, only to see Iantalking on the phone on the balcony. Thus, she stood in the living room and fixed her eyes on the manwhose expression she couldn’t see because he was facing away from her. Soon, her sensitive naturebegan to haunt her with wild imaginations, causing her to wonder whether Ian was talking to Yulia overthe phone.

At first, she didn’t think of listening in on the conversation as she waited in the living room, but whenIan’s phone call felt like it was taking forever, she started to become restless. So, she tiptoed closer tothe balcony, opening the door that was shut just when she could hear Ian’s voice.

At that moment, Ian didn’t turn around as he was seen with one hand in his pocket and the otherholding his phone. Then, he spoke over the phone and said, “Things are working out between the twoof us, so I’m not going to think about anything else at the moment. After all, I love my current life, andI’m happy with my career and my relationship status.” novelbin
